     He was calm. He was going to stay CALM. He rolled his eyes      at Loki’s exaggerated words. OF COURSE he considered this.      Luckily, Astrid was with Steve for the day so she couldn’t hear      what was going on. Fight after fight happened almost daily.

“I don’t know why you’re still here. All you seem to want to do here lately is fight & I don’t want Astrid to hear it. Notice how most of our arguments start with YOU?? You’ll try t’start a fight with her in the room and I don’t wan’ that happenin’ anymore.”

            He KNEW what he was saying and couldn’t stop it before it             left his mouth. This was it. This was their end and there wasn’t             a bone in James’ body that wanted to stop it. What was with             him? Was it that he just didn’t care anymore?

     Aaaand he was off again. That this was all HIS OWN fault,      that he was the root of ALL the GODDAMN problems they’d      been having. He didn’t know what had gotten into the man,      but he sure as hell didn’t like it.

                   “Right, right, I had forgotten how far your head is up your ass.                     If I remember correctly, and I DO, you have been nothing but                     ill-natured for MONTHS, James. Perhaps I’m not exactly of help                     in this case, but at least I know when not to press something.”

          His head shook and he turned on his heel, stopping at the entrance           to the hall. “The fact that you always refer to her as YOUR daughter           & don’t even realize how much it pains me to hear that says all I           need to hear.” With that and a shake of his head, he stalked to the room.

        you know what really fucks me up though         is the whole bucky/nat thing because STEVE         is so god damn jealous like no question.         but at the same time he will HAPPILY throw         himself away like. if that made him happy at one         point, and if he wants that again, i’m never going         to stand in the way of that.

        steve literally has no capacity for being selfish         when it comes to the people he loves especially he’s         ALWAYS been a martyr and NEVER really cared about himself.

     The liesmith had been nothing but INFURIATED in the heat      of the moment. James was talking and raising false accusations      It got to him, and he would NOT just stand there like a fool      and take the words that cut deeply ( despite not showing it on      his face, they STUNG ) for the sake of James. He took it much      too far for his liking, and he was almost POSITIVE he knew      that.

          The words that came out of his lover’s lips made his blood           BOIL even further, with hurt && with rage. They flickered in           his eyes. First the pain he felt, only to be clouded by the latter.           Both, much to his displease, could be heard in his VOICE.

                    “So, she’s just your daughter then. && I assume I have just                      been insignificant for being of her childhood, right? You don’t even consider                      the FACT that I AM HERE FOR HER JUST AS MUCH AS                      YOU HAVE!! WHAT THE  F U C K  AM I HERE FOR THEN?!”

Also, just throwing this out there to make people sad, but…

When he’s thawed out he’s laying down. He was frozen laying down. And the plane hit the water when he was in the pilot seat- we saw that.

Which means he wasn’t knocked out by the initial impact. And it doesn’t look like he drowned, either. He had time to see his expected death coming, after the impact, and lay himself down. My guess is some internal injuries from the crash, followed by freezing to death inside the plane.

So just go ahead an add a little scene in your head of Steve surviving the crash, but knowing that wet and isolated on a field of ice, in a plane that’s still sinking, nobody would get to him in time. But he knows he’s done his job. So he lays down, and closes his eyes, and maybe wonders if anyone will ever find his body, and bring it back to be buried by his mom and dad, since Bucky never was buried. But either way they’ll have a service for him, and that will be nice, and the priest will say the words and he’ll be at rest. And he feels bad, leaving his men, and he regrets everything he never told Peggy, and that he won’t be there for her now, but at least he did his part, right? He got the job done, and that’s what counts. If he dies alone, bleeding out and freezing, that’s all that Bucky got, to. So that’s all right.

Not to make this post any sadder, but Steve’s parents were deceased before the movie began. So, if he’d had a funeral, the most likely attendees would have been Peggy, the remaining Howling Commandos and possibly Howard Stark.
