even if the fraud was like 5% it wouldn’t compare to rich people cheating the system by trillions lmao

Also, SNAP “fraud” is like exchanging some of your stamps for cash to buy necessities you can’t buy with stamps, like soap or deodorant or tampons

TBH even if one hundred percent of people on food stamps were committing food stamp fraud I’d still be in favor of keeping the program around

Hey I wanna talk about this.

I work at a drug addiction counseling center. A ton of my clients have, at one time or another, sold their food stamps. This is basically exactly what the GOP is afraid of, right? Drug addicts selling their food stamps.

I have learned, now, to ask them WHY they sold their food stamps. Here is an incomplete list of the answers:

- I need tampons, and you can’t buy them with foodstamps

- See above RE: toilet paper

- I was living in a hotel with no kitchen then. I had to buy pre-prepared food

- The homeless shelter won’t let me keep food in my locker or room, so I have to buy pre-prepared food (Yes, really)

- I had to make rent

- My sister had to make rent

- My son had to make rent

- I needed co-pays to get my medication or I’ll die

- I needed co-pays to get my medication or I’ll loose control of my mental health

But the absolute most common form of food stamp fraud I see? Giving away food stamps to other family members who get no food stamps or insufficient food stamps to feed their families. I see that every month. People glassy eyed and hungry because they gave away their food to their adult kids, their grand kids, cousins, siblings etc.

So, is food stamp fraud rampant? In some places, yes. And I’m not about to chastise people for it.

seriously though bisexuality being defined as attraction to men and women is a heterosexual’s definition of bisexuality actual bisexual groups and organizations have been defining it as attraction to two or more genders or same and other genders since the nineties and plenty of nb people actually id as bi and refusing to accept how we define ourselves is so absurdly biphobic and heterosexist and jfc it’s 2014 can other queer people fucking realize and acknowledge this

The purple stripe on the bi flag is meant to represent attraction to nb genders and the bisexual manifesto published in Anything That Moves includes the lines “Do not assume that bisexuality is binary or duogamous in nature … In fact, don’t assume that there are only two genders.” That was published in 1990. It’s older than a lot of people here, including me, and older than terms like “pansexual” and “polysexual” by at least a decade. Bi history is important.

(~0 Ackbar’s Warning 0~)

~A Ward Spell to Warn You of Someone’s Ill Intent~

What You Need

  • a red candle
  • a red gemstone (i used a piece of jasper)
  • an incense you associate with protection (I used sandalwood)
  • a small cloth or pouch

What To Do

  1. Prepare yourself in whatever way you do for spell work or rituals, as well as your work space and tools.
  2. Light the candle and incense and pick up the stone, focusing on the heat transferring from your hand into the stone.
  3. Set the stone back down in front of the candle and incense.
  4. Hold your hand over the stone now, and say “By candle’s light and fire’s warmth, if ill will comes let be be warned. In this stone I pour my will and sight, to signal me of incoming plight.”
  5. Visualize in your mind that the stone acts as a warning, an alarm, when you come near someone or something that wishes you harm. Focus on the heat you put into the stone, program that energy with your intent. Give the alarm a sound or feeling that will cause you to be alerted. A buzz, a glow in its aura, a ringing in your ears.
  6. Place the gem in the cloth or pouch and carry it with you, if you can put it in a necklace and wear it. This kind of magic can take a lot of work, patience and several tries, it will also need recharging. I use sunlight to recharge my necklace.

**It can take a lot of energy and work to get this one right. It took me several tries, but when I finally succeeded at this one, I enchanted a piece of jasper that I had put on a necklace to act as my warning stone.**

Good luck and happy casting witches!

Bottle of Luck

This bottle will bring good luck. Since this is a bottle, there are many different ingredients you can add. I suggest you choose one of the following gemstones, but you can always add more:

  • agate
  • citrine
  • smoky quartz
  • amethyst
  • tourmaline

Next, choose a few of the following herbs:

  • rose hips
  • honeysuckle
  • nutmeg
  • peony
  • thyme
  • rosemary
  • clover
  • Job’s Tears
  • sandalwood
  • chamomile
  • spearmint
  • mint

Look up the meaning of each ingredient you put in. As you place each ingredient into the bottle, announce what it is and what it shall be used for (i.e. “Spearmint, for good luck and healing”). Finally, add one drop of your own blood and a strand of your hair. Be careful when pricking to draw blood; make sure that you’re using a clean, sterile object to do so. Make sure that no herbs enter the cut. If you have room in the bottle, add a little water for purification. Bury at your doorstep (preferably beneath the light of a full moon, but this is optional).

ADOPTION FUN FACT

If you’re adopted internationally into the United States, BY adoption LAWS you’re legally a citizen, but you still have to apply for documentation and if it’s not done by the age of 18 you have to pay over $500 and get a judge to reopen your adoption case.

Even More Fun Fact: No one actually tells adoptive families, this so many find out after they’re 18 when their kid needs to get a passport, wants to apply for financial aid, get certain jobs, vote or some other shit that requires proof of citizenship and now it’s too late because they’re 18 or over.

AND EVEN MORE FUN FACT! You can sometimes even be deported because you can be considered foreign-born, non-citizens!

Oh and they won’t accept adoption papers or a birth certificate as proof.

Do it now! Seriously. Even if you think you are safe. Do it.

Many people are finding that even a birth certificate is not valid proof anymore. Texas birth certificates are notorious. So notorious that I have 3 friends who can’t use them to get passports! Don’t think everything is hunky dory. You must nail down your citizenship.

Plus the cost for your citizenship certificate is almost doubling this fall.

Some Naturalization/Citizenship Certificate tips from me, the person who front-end processes these forms for half the country: the passport people are absolute garbage at sending your Naturalization Certificate back to you. Unfortunately, they also require it for you to get a passport. If you don’t get it back, whine at them about it and they will probably cover the cost of the replacement.

Also! It takes up to 12 months to get a replacement certificate. If you urgently need your Natz Cert to visit your dying relative in another country, the word you want to use is ‘Expedite’. Not ‘ASAP’. Not ‘rush’. Expedite. Write a letter explaining why you need it expedited, if you do. Otherwise the USCIS data-entry grunts (me!) aren’t allowed to throw it into the expedite line and it gets relegated to the Backlog Crypts.

Also! You need to get a new Naturalization Certificate if your name and/or gender legally changes, because a lot of places want your proof of citizenship for things like Social Security and student loans and Medicaid/EBT/welfare benefits and drivers’ licenses.

ALSO ALSO both the N600 ($600) that you use to apply for your Naturalization Certificate in the first place and N565 ($345) that you use to apply for a replacement certificate are eligible for FEE WAIVERS. It’s called an I912. Learn it, love it, use it.

Please for your sake make sure you are using the current version of the form. The most common reason I have to reject an N565 is because someone sent me something that expired in 2013. The current one is seven pages long. Please send the government all seven of them.

Pls stop making lgbt people feel bad for falling into lgbt stereotypes. Like we didn’t ask for stereotypes. We didn’t ask for you to fetishize us. We’re just trying to be ourselves, we shouldn’t be shamed for “perpetuating stereotypes”. Let us exist in peace.

a lot of “stereotypes” are also a part of our culture and a part of how we recognize one another and a result of our experiences, but cis straight people love to shame us for this. fitting stereotypes can be good and embraced!!

as you get older, you realize that you’re not always right and there’s so many things you could’ve handled better, so many situations where you could’ve been kinder and all you can really do is forgive yourself and let your mistakes make you a better person.
