UPDATE ON MY DOG! Just got home! A big thank you to the wonderful vet I work with who is obsessed with dermatology. It is very likely that my dog has zinc-responsive dermatosis. We did not perform a skin scrape at this time. A Chem 10/CBC/T4 was sent out to Idexx. At this time, it is believed that he has a staph infection secondary to his zinc issue. He will be on Cefpodoxime for 3 weeks along with GenOne spray for 2 weeks. I'm ordering his zinc supplement online and he will be on it for life if it is helping him.

okay but for real veterinarians do not get enough credit for what they do. i took my dogs to get blood drawn yesterday so i could buy them more heart worm medicine and my scottie dog who is extremely chill and super friendly happens to be extremely afraid of needles. so afraid in fact that he didn’t just flail and cry, he projectile pooped at least 4 feet away from the table he was standing on. and the fuckin vet was just like “haha he must be scared poor little guy i’ll give him a treat” and just continued doing her business 100% normally. vets man i’m sure they see this kind of nonsense all goddamn day please go find a veterinarian and give them your personal thanks.
