This blog fell into a terrible hiatus as i focused on other blogs but this weekend i’m going to freshen up Drake’s theme and get things rolling again. Havent had too many roleplays going on here so that’s it too. GOTTA PULL ME BACK, MATES.
I see it on social media all the time. Someone posts art that they did not create, and below the illustration write; “credit to the owner”, or makes an amv containing art, with no links or names to the original artists.
This is a really shitty thing to do and let me tell you why.
I work fulltime as a freelance artist. It’s really hard work, especially if you’re just starting out like I am (been doing it for a little more than a year). You have to constantly share your art and advertise yourself to the world. Hunt work wherever you think you can find it. There’s a lot of artists out there competing for work, and it’s a constant battle.
One of the most important things for a working artist is to be seen. Getting an audience, getting people to share your art or talk about it. If the right people see your art, it could lead to work. So if you post work by an artist, make sure to credit properly! Link to the artists dA/tumblr/blog/whatever. Zerochan and weheartis are not sources! If you don’t know who made the art, look for the source! There’s a lot of different ways to do this! If you still can’t find the original art, simply don’t post it. Don’t. Post. It.
You might just want something ‘pretty’ to have on your blog, and you just “found the art on google!”, but don’t be lazy. Look for the source and credit the hard work of the artist. Not adding credit when posting other peoples art is robbing an artist of future work. As dramatic as it sounds, you’re killing the artist.

Happy Aloha Friday everyone! Sorry for my absence this week . I had a language exam that was due yesterday and have a dentist appointment today and tomorrow. Its been a draining week for replies and asks but if all goes well after that I’ll get to replies across my other two blogs @nebromancer and @drakulya and have a little raffle in the future.

—– Heel tucked firmly in a divot in the rock, the lady in question affirmed a commanding stance as she looked over the clearing. Arm rested on her knee and coattails moving in the gentle wind, the light rain had no affect on her presence. That was until the tug. The ghostly apparitions of her crew did not stop the boy’s approach.
She glanced behind her then promptly dropped a hand on top of the child’s head. She turned it to shapes in the distance that may have not looked very comforting with the rain. ❝ So you do speak! -- but aye, I do. Look there’s one. Pray tell, m’ boy, why are you so keen on going? What is there? Treasures? Gold? Master? It leaves more to be desired than escorting a small servant back home without being given a name.❞

☠ — // 7. Faded Journal. In Fate/ EXTRA, one of the keywords associated with Francis Drake for her Matrix is an old Logbook, which her Master collects and hides. A treasure hunt begins and you must collect it! The materials describes it as:
Logbook The sailing logs of a renowned explorer who successfully circumnavigated the globe. The logs themselves are illegible, with pages cracked and flaking. However, it seems that the author of these logs was a ship's captain who made their name as both an adventurer and fleet commander.
This headcanon is for worlds outside of the Fate/EXTRA verse, where she is summoned with it. Records in the book are still waterlogged as they are, and those things that are legible are from her time alive. Drake has a better chance to make out her own writing than her masters, but.. .there might be more in the pages than meets the eye. With each summoning, she jots down eventual days or logs in plans, tallies, supplies, names and memos to herself, or even letters to far away friends. The logbook also functions as a diary and with each summoning, the ink is faded and washed away. What is written however, remains with soul in the Throne of Heroes. With enough passing summons and riffling through what is left in her logbook, she can pick up on what happened to her prior-- that is if she’s sobered up to sit and decipher
