watchtheworldburnx captured the clown princess

It had taken years and years of pleading... but Harley finally cracked and told her daughter the identity of her father. Lucy had suspected as much. Even though her mother never admitted to being Harley Quinn... the younger blonde knew. Too many similarities between them, and she was smart, like her mother was deep down.

It didn’t take much to find the Joker. Asking around for a notorious criminal by name generally gets you noticed. She sat on the chair with the mesh bag over her head, waiting patiently for her ‘father’ to arrive and greet her.

“She didn’t even struggle when we took’er....”

“Weird-?”

A small smirk crossed the girls lips, but her father’s henchman couldn’t see that. Finally a door opened and maniacal giggles echoed within the room. Lucy’s heart raced. She leaned forward in her chair, only to be pushed back into it. The bag was snatched from her head and she was finally face to face with him. The Joker. Her dad. His laughter was how her mother described it. Terrifying, and yet hilarious. Lucy swallowed, wondering if he’d recognize Harley in her. She blinked, opened her mouth and spoke the only words she could think of. “Hi daddy.”

watchtheworldburnx came to play

Her dolls were laid out nicely on her little blanket. Each had its own little plate and ‘snack’, which for Lucy, was grass garnished Hotwheels. She smiled happily at her work and stood from her spot, raising her hands and nodding. “Now we eats dollies!”

She checked everything once more, wanting her little ‘play party’ to be perfect. She was about to sit down and begin when she noticed she had forgotten her own snack! Lucy gasped, glancing down the hill at the small red wagon where her toys remained. Her aunt was quietly reading a book on a bench not too far away, but was quickly dozing out. Lucy made her way down the hill and towards her wagon when she saw a man, standing alone under a tree. She tilted her head to the side and decided that his brightly colored clothes were the perfect attire for her ‘play party’. She skipped over towards him, grinning when she moved closer. “Hiya mista! Do ya wanna come play with me and my dollies? We’s havin a party. And ya look fancy’nuff to come play.”

Lucy was notorious for wandering off when she was taken to the park. Her aunt would tell her to play by the swings, and the child would decide the slide seemed more entertaining at that particular moment.

Today, Lucy seemed to be distracted by a man selling balloons from a cart. She stayed far enough away, staring at the brightly colored globes and pouting, not having the money to get one. She considered heading back when she saw someone sit besides her. She looked up at the blonde girl and smiled. “Do you wike da bawoons too?”

This is why Harley is like my all time favorite!

Why did they leave out the best part of this scene?;

The character development of Harley is probably one of the better things DC has done with their characters.

"Santa comin to toowwwwwnnnnn!" The four year old sprinted up and down the hall way in the apartment building where she lived with her Aunt. While her Aunt was busy wrapping her presents, Lucy made her way into the hallway unattended. Her neighbors didn't seem to mind, most being away for the holidays. She ran to a Santa decoration and grinned brightly at it. "I was good awl yearh... so I'mma get wots of presents!"

"Da pawk! I wuv da pawk!" She giggled. Lucy bounced closer to Harley and reached up, grinning widely. She reached her arms up for her mother and opened and closed her hands, motioning to get picked up.

As the little girl is scooped up, she snuggles into Harley’s neck and smiles. She had pretty much forgotten about her father for the current moment. All’s she could think about was rolling around in the grass. “Da wing’s are mah fay-wit.”

Relief flooded over Harley and she let out a quiet sigh as her daughter’s attention focused on the park.

Yet another incident avoided.. She thought victoriously.

With a growing grin, she laughed and bent down to lift the girl into her arms, swinging her in a big circle before settling her on her hip. “Mine too, baby girl, mine too.”

Lucy giggled loudly, throwing her arms up as her mother threw her around. The little girl draped an arm over Harley's shoulders and leaned her head into hers. She loved having her mommy around. She missed her all the time, but never bothered her aunt, knowing that Harley was busy.

"I happy you here momma." She said quietly, kissing her mothers cheek. "I miss you when you not here."

The child watched him lean down. She giggled as he got to her level. Lucy pulled her hands up, hugging them between her shoulder and her neck as a happy smile spread across her cheeks. “I shure hope so! I would wuv him is I meet-ed him! Momma said he was bizy and no had time fowr me.”

The knife seemed to twist a little further at those words but he smiled anyway. He was sure Harley had her reasons for what she’d said. After all, she’d had to tell her something and the Joker clearly could never have been allowed around the child. Still, it hurt to know his little girl thought her daddy was just too busy to care about her.

"Oh, I can’t imagine that’s all it could be. Cute kid like you? He must be dying to see you…" The small lie cost him dearly. He wanted so badly to tell her, to scoop her up in his arms and tell her he loved her. That he would always keep her safe; but that was a dangerous truth for a little girl and he was the very last person anyone would want for their father.

Instead, he stood again and took his phone out of his pocket. Snapping a discreet picture of the little girl, he sent off a text along with the picture and frowned slightly at the screen.

"I 'auuno." She smiled, looking down and rocking back and forth shyly. She looked up at Jack and grinned widely. "I weawwy hope so. I weawwy want a daddy to wuv me!"

Lucy froze, tapping her chin for a second, making very Harley like facial expressions as a thought came to her mind. "I dwew a pic-chur of what I dink my daddy wooks wike wonce!"

She took off into her closet and found the picture, handing it to him with a smile. The man had a huge smile on is face, an orange shirt and black hair. She was proud of it. "I dink he wooks wike dis."

Lucy giggled, rocking back and forth proudly. “Danks momma! It’s me and do and I dwew a goggie instead-a daddy, cuz i dunno what my-ne wooks wike.” She explained, having asked about a friend about the ‘man’ in her family picture at school. Lucy hadn’t really thought about a dad until then.

A slight frown tugged at her lips then, but she did her best to hide it. It hurt to have to hide her from her father, but…at the time…things had been so different. She’d been struggling to find a way to tell Jack about Lucy since they’d met up again but…it was hard. Where would she start? Hell, how would he react..? Would he even want to know? And what would she have to tell Lucy..? What would she want to know..? There was so little she could really tell her daughter..

Panic began to set in as these thoughts began to swirl about her mind and she immediately jumped to think of a quick response.

"He’s…he’s really busy, sweety..Maybe some day you’ll meet ‘im but…now’s prolly not the best time.." The answer made her wince..but what else could she have said.,.? Offering Lucy a smile, she held out her hand, and attempted to change the subject. "Hey, c’mon, s’a nice day out, whaddaya say we go to the park, huh…?"
