Arina sighed as she hobbled into the room, her arm in a sling after her hand was patched up. At least her chest didn't hurt at every movement, altough taking deep breaths was still painful. When she looked up, her eye went wide at the sight of Cara sitting on the bed.

The elf didn't expect her lover to be here so soon. Exhaling slowly, Arina finally eased herself down next to her, leaning her head on her shoulder even as she felt Cara's gaze. "You know I'm sorry, right? I didn't mean to..."

"Huhh. I guess I'm glad my life is back to 'normal'?" Arlyn shrugged, leaning back in her chair. "I don't really mind, to be honest. The Dragon Isles turned into more of an adventure than I'd bargained for, and not all for the better. But it's over, and I've missed singing for the regulars. People don’t owe you their downtime! And I don’t mean this in a harsh way, but in a “quit breaking your own heart” way.

It’s so easy to see a friend “active” and reblogging on tumblr, or maybe making a status update on Facebook and feel hurt they haven’t replied to our messages.

Different things take different energy. And someone being “online” but not actively talking to you does not mean they no longer love or care about you.
