Late October on Garlieston Beach
Back Bay near St Medan’s GC. 1 mile from Monreith.
Doug got pretty badly banged up chasing a deer in the local woods on Saturday. Nasty puncture wound on his shoulder, a cut foot, cut mouth and very bruised pride. Spent much of Saturday afternoon at the new vet in Newton Stewart having him patched up.
Two days later and he’s feeling fine, even if he still has the wounds and he’ll be taking it easy with lead only walks for the next week.
It has raised the issue of allowing him free rein when in forests. usually he’s fine, but Kilsture is very ‘green’ with lots of ferns and weeds and undergrowth disguising dangers, which is how we think he hurt himself.
It’ll be beaches for him for the next few weeks at least (and my mushroom hunting will be done on my own).
