Astronaut Kara Danvers sets out to explore the atmosphere of a newly discovered Exoplanet. Her mission takes an unexpected turn when an asteroid collides casts her Orbiter into the brink of a black hole. Dr. Lena Luthor lives a quiet life as a professor at a small University but soon finds herself drawn into the astronaut’s plight. Her decision to join NASA’s rescue mission sets into motion a series of events that weaves their lives inextricably together, and profound discoveries intertwine to create an intricate connection of love, memory, and time.

As soon as I see you, I know the question you are about to ask me. But still, I pay attention to every detail of it. The way you shift your weight a little onto your right foot like you’re nervous, the way your eyes seem a little brighter even though it’s midnight and the only light outside is from stars. I reach out and take your hand, pulling you close. I can smell the hints of honey and wildflower in your hair. It isn’t cold, but you sink into me like you need to feel warmer. I measure the weight of you there, measure you and me together against the weight of the ground underneath us pushing back and the gravity pushing in. You drop your head on my shoulder, and your arms settle around my waist. You take a deep breath and whisper into my ear. The words feel like they dissolve into particles before they ever reach me.

They’ve fallen apart over and over across millions of miles.

They’ve already become a part of me, a part of you, and a part of every blade of grass beneath our feet

Between them I’ll have sat and watched the stars with you hundred times.

I’ll have kissed you a thousand.

And we’ll have fallen in love in every way you said we would.

At the Catch Ch. 9 Preview #2

I have good news and bad news.  The good news is I have a preview for you!  It does, however, develop major plot points, so avoid if you don’t like spoilers.  It’s also angst, though I cannot emphasize enough that 80% of this chapter is not angst.  The bad news is I haven’t had as much time to write lately (thanks to work + vacation + training), and am only about 20k into this chapter.  Which I think is about half-done?  Hoping my pace will pick up these next few weeks, but I don’t want to promise anything.  Thanks for your patience!

At the Catch Ch. 9 Preview #1

Well…I tried to write y’all some smut and it turned into 4k of mostly fluff (but isn’t emotional intimacy the ultimate smut?). Chapter 9 is coming along, but a bit slowly.  Second (angst?) preview next week or the week after, and I’m going to change my posting day to Friday/Saturday rather than Tuesday/Wednesday.  Excerpt below and writing playlist at the end!

“You can’t always go first.”

“Oh, I can’t?”

“No, it’s not allowed.”

“Allowed?” Kara laughed, her eyebrows shooting up, and Lena found herself thoroughly endeared at how Kara’s nose scrunched up, at the whole perfect picture, really.
