Who are you?
We’ve always worn
Masks
Even before this
Pandemic
Only thing that’s
Changed
We used to wear
Them
But only on the
Inside
“Someone can be madly in love with you and still not be ready. They can love you in a way you have never been loved and still not join you on the bridge. And whatever their reasons you must leave. Because you never ever have to inspire anyone to meet you on the bridge. You never ever have to convince someone to do the work to be ready. There is more extraordinary love, more love that you have never seen, out here in this wide and wild universe. And there is the love that will be ready.”

Acrimony
He asked you to save him
And you did
You took a blade to his throat
And finished the cut at the end of your own
Oh the foolish things
one must do in the name of love
Are you righteous or toxic?
To be of one in spirit, yet fragile in mind
To let the sins of flesh
taint your experiences with love
You chose death over forgiveness
Rage over understanding
No explanation could serve validity of any kind
For true love is never at risk of infidelity
in your mind
How idiotic you must have felt
To allow his heat to warm the inner most workings
Of your thighs
As he sang new nothings into your eyes
Deafening you into naïveté
Your world spun on his axis made of lust and lies
And you believed the location of the truth
Was hidden in his swallows
What a travesty it was to discover
That he kept his love tucked
underneath his tongue,
to learn is wasn’t for you but for another
A righteous killing followed by a faithful sacrifice
His world was your home
So you believed it made no sense
for him to die alone
Oh the foolish things one believes must be done
In the name of love
For what is love without tragedy?
