“Yep, not too far now.” He nods in response. Then, a faint trace of pink manifests upon features, where the giantess’s lips laid moments ago. He was always one to blush so easily, but she didn’t seem to care in the slightest. 

         After a few more minutes of walking, they had arrived at their destination. With a light smile, the grizzly sin leads them to the park. However, it was a certain location of the park area, not as noisy or crowded. A nicely made blanket was present, along with a picnic basket full of yummy treats atop it. 

      A satisfied grin came to the fairy’s lips, awaiting her reaction. ”Do you like it~? I did it myself – well with some help.”

        As she had stumbled into the area that was previously set up, her optics widened in delight. The comfortable fabric laid gently across the field with a woven basket filled with treats sitting upon it. It all seemed cozy. A nestled place to remain secluded from the outside world. Somewhere nice and quiet to spend with him.

        “Ah~! It’s so cute~! It looks soft too! Did you set this all up?” Perhaps they would stare at the clouds above, even appreciate the world in one another’s arms. To even eat yummies and converse as long as they need. It was thrilling.

         They were still a little ways from their destination, but he didn’t seem to rush.  Every little moment with his beloved was treasured after all. Time passed so quickly for them, so taking their leisurely time wasn’t a bad thing. However, King couldn’t wait to see the look on her face when faced with the surprise. 

           “So am I.” Lips curved upward into a grin as he tiptoes slightly, pressing a soft kiss upon her cheek.

        With the gentle peck bestowed upon her flesh, a cheeky grin appeared in response. His affection was much appreciated, so much so that she would return the favor by lowering herself to kiss his cheek in return. It was a romantic gesture, one to show him his feeling were reciprocated. 

        “Are we almost there?” The excitement was a little excessive for her. Plus she wished to enjoy their time together rather than walk most of the way there.

         “What? No of course not!” Sure at times he could be unpredictable, but he’d never intentionally do something to frighten her. Still, he hoped this day would be perfect and to go as planned. Although he may not appear it, King believed himself to be the romantic type.

        “You’ll see.” The grip on her hand increases slightly, reassuring her that she’ll love the surprise. It was a clever idea indeed, however he didn’t do it all alone. There was some assistance from a certain sin in the group, a greedy one. 

         His reaction was cute, but startling. King got almost completely defensive of his gift that she was left standing there baffled. It wasn’t her intention to irritate him, but it was quite entertaining to see him act in such a childish matter, especially since she had a similar childish stance on life. 

        “I will see-- I am excited, don’t worry.” Butterflies began to pick up in the pit of her belly. It was thrilling to receive something. Without hesitation, her hand clenched onto his tighter before grinning at him. 

           “Its a surprise.” He turns his head while he speaks, lips slightly curving into a smug grin. Of course he was planning something special for awhile. Keeping it secret though was the tricky part – knowing how curious she could get. 

          “But, I promise it’ll be worth the wait.” Leading the way, his smile doesn’t fade once. After all, it was nothing but happy times when they were together.

       The curiosity was eating her alive, but she would not complain or even force it out of him. If this was a surprise, she would let him treasure the fact that he has kept if for so long. It would be quite nice to definitely see what he had in store for her.

      “Should I be scared?” Truth be told, she wasn’t sure how his gifts would end up, especially this one. Remembering their past, it was fantastic to experience the moments spent together. This may be another.

          Once she exited the bar he automatically took notice to her appearance. That outfit suited her perfectly, each curve was shown casually as the brunette did a quick twirl. Almond shaped pupils shrunk while his heart beat increased steadily. King was an extremely lucky guy, even now he feels like he doesn’t deserve her.

        “Y-You beautiful.. I-I mean you look beautiful!” Stumbling on his words like usual, his blush deepens. Shyly he reaches for her hand, gently grabbing it to interlock their fingers.

         “Thank you.” A giggle left through grinning lips. His compliment was quite cute. The stumbling of the words and flustered state. It made her happy to know the affect she had on him. Quite amazing. It gave her so much power. All in good fun of course.

        “Where are we going?” Fingers grasped onto his tightly, wishing to never let him go. Wherever he shall take her, it would not matter. As long as she was with him.

           “..Are you ready Diane?” Inquired the sin of sloth, pink lightly spreading across his cheeks. It had been awhile since they last went out together. Since today was a beautiful day (and a day off from bar duties) he thought it was the perfect opportunity. 

             Girl’s took forever to get ready, but King respected it and wouldn’t complain. Chin softly propped down on chastiefol, the fairy patiently awaited for the giantess to come out the bar.

           Free time, thank the heavens. It was some fresh air away from Boarhat and the others, to be left alone with the man she adored. It was certainly nerve-wrecking to get all dressed up for their night with one another. Perhaps she was taking long, but it was best to look as gorgeous as she could.

          “I’m here.” Diane walked out, gazing at the fairy before twirling to show off her outfit. A cute pleated skirt with a sleeveless button-up. Her chocolate tresses no longer in pigtails.

            “I am standing--,” A snarky response to his inquiry, but this was to lighten the mood. With her tongue playfully poking through plump lips, she began to hop in an excited manner. As she began to chuckle, hands wrapped around her stomach. 

            With a sigh, violet oculars glanced his way. Using her free hand, her digits clenched onto his palm, gripping it with enough force to show she was in fact still thinking, lost in thought. Perhaps she was misbehaving to only avoid the subject. Hopefully he’d catch on.

          Such little white lie’s wouldn’t fool him, he knows her much to well. Her body language and the expression upon her face told a different tale. King knows that Diane loved and cherished him, but he was being a little selfish wanting to know what exactly it was, that made her fall in love with someone such as him. 

         “You twirl your hair when ever somethings wrong..” The other replied simply, a slight pout upon features. It wasn’t a bad thing, it was what made her, herself.  There were a few moments of silent, as he tried to think of words. “It’s o-okay. You don’t need to worry okay?”

“I know-- but I am not twirling my hair,” she immediately ceased messing with her tresses as she attempted to hide her hands behind her back. This ultimately failed when digits were brought back up to twirl her hair yet again. It was definitely a force of habit that would not falter, unfortunately.

“I am not worrying,” With that being said, Diane began to look up and give a silent pause between the two. This was due to her thinking yet again. Perhaps she was overreacting, but she did not mind in the slightest bit. 

        Oh no, did she notice? He was imperfect at such a skill, concealing away emotions. No matter how much he tried it always failed. Blinking, concern soon filled up honey orb’s softening at the giantess. Who was now twirling long brown strands, and he knew perfectly well what that meant. 

        “I-I love you too– but whats wrong?” He was really horrible at hiding away emotions, now he just made her upset. The least thing he wanted to make her feel. “I’m sorry… you did nothing wrong. P-Please don’t be sad Diane..”

            Wasn’t upset, perse, but was merely pondering her words at this point. His actions showed her that everything was okay, but she felt as if she had messed up something along the way. She couldn’t put her finger on it, but it was off. Perhaps the vague answer left his heart trembling for another reason other than the loved which was supposed to be filled.

            “I’m not sad--,” a small fib, “Why would you think I’m sad?” Her sensitive nature left lavender optics shining from the welling crocodile tears. Her words trailed off into a whimper before clasping a chunk of her hair to twirl around in front of her face.

           Everything? Secretly, he was let down just a little. In the past, she used to always say what she loved most about the captain, the smallest of details. Although he knew that love was forged out of her love for King himself, it still hurt a little not to get an exact reason. Yet at the same time, he was happy, and grateful to know that she did love many things about him. 

           “You’re sweet Diane..” A soft smile came to his lips, before pressing them softly against her cheek.  “Thank you.” Two simple words that expressed an endless amount of gratitude. He didn’t like the feeling of unrequited love, who did? He was just glad that Diane really did love him back, even if it wasn’t for one simple reason. 

          Had she spoke something incorrectly? Perhaps the broad answer given to her beloved was not much. It could’ve been seen as a cop-out. This made the giant feel very uneasy, as if it had let him down. This was not what she had wished for. She had wished for a wide smile and those bright eyes to fill with stars. Possibly, she messed up.

          “King-- I love you...” It was soft, almost intimidated-esque. Without thinking, Diane brought her finger up to twirl her hair, a sign she was in deep disarray.
