Icon tutorial requested by anon.

WARNING: I suck at explaining things so i’m very sorry if you cant really understand what i’m saying??!?!? feel free to message me if you have any questions!!

I’m using photoshop CC but any other version will be okay.

1. ok so first open up the image you want to use as your icon by clicking FILE > OPEN

2. crop and resize your image (I resized mine to 100px by 100px but whatever size you want will work) now we can begin!

  • put a new layer LAYER > NEW > LAYER
  • click on the lasso tool (or any tool that works best for you)

  • now outline your character or the thing you want to keep on your icon

  • use the paint bucket tool

  • and click anywhere on the icon (but keep the selection on!) with any color. I used black.

your icon should look like this:

  • then double click on your new layer, a window called *LAYER STYLE* will appear. on the left you will find *COLOR OVERLAY* click on it.
  • keep the mode to *normal* now click on the colored case next to it and choose the color that you want (for my icon i used #c2c3bc)

  • now click on the layer that contains your image and sharpen it with any atn that you have. I used this one
  • then put your psd and your done! :)
