watching this actually made me cry a little. i've long held that i think the support for anti-trans policies is a mile wide and an inch deep, and the majority of people who would oppose our existence in a survey or a ballot box do so out of ignorence in the truest sense of the word. Do so because they have little to no experience of us, do so because they don't see us in their communities, do so because we are not a part of their daily lives, and that if they were to see us there in front of them day in and day out, they would not so easily cast aside our rights and our humanity in favor of what they hear about us from conservative media outlets. This is exactly what I'm talking about when I say that, and seeing such a perfect example of it, especially in so dark a time, brings me to tears.

Following a really frightening ER visit, we discovered I had a blood clot that was lurking that had embolized and hit my toes on one foot. Treatment for this big issue is going well -- but my foot was unable to be saved! I'm currently recovering from right amputation, and am working with the limb lab to get a high-tech replacement and recover from the embolism and infection.

It's all been pretty scary, but I'm a) alive and b) still kicking, just far less well because WHOA, NO FOOT. I'm my usual positive self about it - I'm really glad it was not worse, as it very well could have been. I'm working hard to get back to a new kind of normal.

UK Supreme Court has effectively declared the wording of the Gender Recognition Act 2004 overruled by the wording of the Equality Act 2010, despite the fact that the Equality Act was written with the understanding that the Gender Recognition Act officially changed one's legal gender for all and any remaining purposes, including those pertaining to biological sex, which it defines broadly as including those having undergone transition, but it clearly includes us, so that was taken care of at the time, and is now being undone.

Note also that this legal ruling only affects trans women.
