not trying to be harsh, tho. it's pretty easy to form weird parasocial relationships with celebrities, especially when you're active on a fandom community like tumblr and consume lots of fanfiction and stuff. and i understand niall specifically makes it seem like it's a very personal relationship between fan and artist with how much he shares on ig and twitter, i understand.
but it's important for you to stand back and realise these people aren't actually your friends and in fact don't even know who you are. it's important for your relationship with them when/if they do something bad so you can think objectively and critically about it but also so your relationship with them doesn't affect the way you interact with the real world and in your life outside your fandom community.
