chamo’s fanfest adventure: the people (the pictures have captions!)

i have far too many pictures of fanfest, but here are just a few of my favorite moments during the weekend!!

firstly, it was amazing meeting everyone that i did. lots of old and new friends from excalibur, sargatanas, and balmung…it was so good to see all of you!! i can’t describe how happy it made me to meet you guys in person. i wish we all had another day or two so we could all see even more of each other, but perhaps we will see each other again next fanfest. i love you guys!!

i was really lucky to have my lore book signed by koji, soken, yoshi-p, and aimi, too! ryan and i also saw mocchi and foxclon/bucco of the jp community team! we got a picture with mocchi but bucco was very busy when we saw him–maybe next time!

it was really awesome seeing koji again!! i told him the lore book was the best book i’d ever read and i hadn’t even read it yet and he was being silly like “you sure about that?? i mean, look at these guys, they can’t even spell encyclopedia right!! they spelled it with an a-e!” i’m a few sections in now and my opinion hasn’t changed, it’s still the best ever!! you can just feel the dedication he and the lore/scenario/localization team put into this book. it’s so cool!!

i spoke to both yoshi-p and soken in japanese (only a little though!! my conversational japanese is still kinda ehhh.) i asked yoshi-p, “i don’t know if you remember me, but i wrote you a letter at pax…” and immediately he was like “i do remember!!” i was insanely happy….nervous, but happy!! another thing i told him was that “i love frilly gear! other than edda’s, do you have plans for frilly glamour gear?” and he said “we do plan on making it, so please wait a little longer!” i will be looking forward to it!!

soken was really friendly, too! i drew him a picture earlier last week and when i asked him about it he was like “YEAH!!!” and i was like “YEAH!!!” he even told his interpreter lady in japanese “the other day she made me a picture! it was really good!” and i was like “SOKEN YOU ARE THE BEST, THANK YOU FOR MAKING AWESOME MUSIC” and he was all “thank you for playing!!” he’s a good noodle, that soken!

i could go on and on about all of the amazing people i met and talked to this weekend–you know who you are!! i’m glad you all made it home safely, and to those that have yet to do so, i hope you’ll have a safe trip home, as well!

and a very big huge thanks to matt and the na community team for organizing this!! thank you guys for everything that you do, seriously. i felt so grateful being able to take part in fanfest this year with everyone.

let’s look forward to stormblood together, and see you guys again (hopefully) in 2018!!

warm up doodle for the next commission

scribblings. i really want the ishgardian rose outfit to win the tank gear contest and i want the princess hair that was a runner up in the hairstyle contest to be a real thing…that way fleurette can look like she just came out of a rose of versailles manga or something…..

i also scribbled a fan-portrait thing because i always liked the way the xiv dev team had those. i think it’d be a fun thing to do if lots of people made their own fan portraits too!

Cosplay Project: FFXIV Summer Coronal Set Post Mortem (pre-con)

All-in-all I was pretty satisfied with this costume, The only things I was slightly disappointed in was the skirt-wrap fringe, cleavage keyhole shape (when wearing) and I wish I could have found a more accurate frog model to the games.

Above are just a few extra shots I had of my cat being the little menace she was and a few finalized things I did, extra inches I added to the bottoms the second go around and a few test try on’s before the con~

Having trouble finding where that piece of glamour is in your inventory?

/isearch is here to help you!

It’s come to my attention that a good number of people don’t actually know this command exists, even for long veterans (I don’t even know when this was introduced, but I’d been using this excessively for the past several months), but its a godsend for people who have a shitton of stuff filling their retainers and inventories and don’t know where they put that particular thing.

you can even do /isearch in dungeons and raids, and it will find that thing for you so you can link it in chat or check if you already have something.

Just do a search with a word you know your item has and it will link all items with that term that you currently own. Then you can right click the item as per normal to link, to try on, to search.

It’s currently tied, but waiting to finalize the knot on the Lei until the top is made so I can compare length. I may add a few more flowers so it hangs lower but waiting till the rest of the cosplay is complete to make that decision!
