Welcome to my cosplay blog! This is occasionally an ask a character blog, so you can ask whomever you'd like if you've seen me cosplay them. Although mostly I'll post WIPs of cosplay, con pictures and selfies.

Then vs Now

Your makeup can improve. Your wig can improve. Your cosplay can improve. We all start somewhere. You’re doing fine friend.

For Asra’s coat, I mainly just wanted to know how you dyed the pattern on the fabric. I could figure out how to sew it. I looked up some things on printing patterns on fabrics but I don’t think it’ll work.

Start with completely white fabric and the primary color colors in rit dye. I got mine at Wal Mart.

I did a few test swatches to get the color I wanted and painted the dye directly onto the fabric. Do a few practices to see how it will bleed/look when you rinse it.

I basically treated the fabric like a canvas and the dye like paint. I put a tarp down in my living room and went to town.

Paint the designs onto the fabric, rinse and repeat.

Hope this helps!

This was probably an old post, but I just saw you saying you wanted to delete and remake, and as a new cosplayer (working on my first Crafted cosplay now) I really like seeing your progress! It's very encouraging.

It is a bit of an old post, but I still appreciate this. A lot of the reason I felt that way (still kind of feel that way) is because most of my followers are inactive. They don’t interact with my posts the way they used to and it’s disheartening to have over 2000 followers and only get six likes on something. At the very least I feel like I need to rebrand. AlexHeichou is something I came up with because I was lazy and couldn’t think of anything else. It wasn’t supposed to stick and it wasn’t supposed to become my YouTube persona. But it started being a name people recognized me for back in the day, and now that it’s died down I feel like I can finally get away from it. It’s not that I want to get rid of the progress. I’m proud of where I started and where I’ve progressed to and I love that other people can see that if they dig far enough. (If you’re on PC this blog has less than 200 pages soooo, /page/200 will get you far enough back that you can just click on the first ever page of my blog.)I haven’t deleted, and I doubt I will simply for the massive amount of photos on this blog. It would never be deleted, just archived. This started out as a place I could catalogue and put pictures so I could find it easier than just keeping it on my phone. ^^But I’m still trying to think of a good user name. So if anyone has any ideas I’d love to listen to them. Thanks so much for this ask, I appreciate it. Sorry it took me so long to get to it.

A lot of people asked how I did the coat! Unfortunately writing out a tutorial for the full length process of the cost is not something I’d really like to do.

If you’re interested in how a specific part of the coat was done, feel free to send me an ask!

But I will not be posting a full tutorial. Thanks for all the love guys!

I’m @ing you specifically just to let you know. ^^ I know you asked.
