A FanTASTic Day on the Avengers Set!

Mark Ruffalo’s grand prize winner, Richard, and his wife visited the set of The Avengers this month, and he was kind enough to tell us about his day! Read on!

It was a blast. We got to meet Mark and watch him film his final scene, some of it from actually on the set next to him. We also got to see some filming with Paul Bettany (Jarvis and the Vision), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Aaron Johnson (Quicksilver), Aaron’s double doing some simulated super-speed running (since Aaron had hurt or broken his foot), and Iron Man’s double in full armor, which was cool.

A set photographer took pictures of us with Mark, us with Iron Man, and they did bring out one of the Captain America shields and Thor’s Hammer, Mjolnir, and they took a pic of my wife and I wielding them together. :)

Also, Joss Whedon was on set directing, so I got to meet and briefly talk with the creator of Firefly, which tickled both my wife and I. We saw craft services, and after choosing our meals, we were told that Mark was having the Set Chef cook us up some steaks, so we had to abandon the rest of the food, lol.

Mark sat down with us for a while after having us see the Avengers 2 trailer that had just been shown at Comic-Con. We talked a while about various topics. He is a very generous gentleman. We met his family, as they came in to get him that day; just fabulous, friendly people. He signed a poster and several photos.

The set visit was fanTASTic!
