small appreciation post for collapsing while still conscious

ok as much as i love a good faint im also a huge sucker for when a character collapses but is still conscious, maybe just dizzy or weak

  • stumbling or tripping on something and falling to their knees, too weak to stand up again
  • weak from fever or low blood sugar and failing to get out of a chair, lying on their back or side while the dizziness subsides (i actually had a fic planned for this at one point)
  • slumping into a chair because they cant stand anymore
  • reaching out to a table or wall for support and sliding to the floor (!!!)
  • sitting on the floor already but they slump to the side out of exhaustion
  • that thing where they throw their arm across their eyes out of exhaustion or dizziness (honestly one of my favorites)

there are probably a lot more im missing rn so feel free to add on!!

Rules: in a new post, show the last line you wrote (or drew) and tag as many people as you feel like.

Thank you for the tag @arianaofimladris !

I'm writing about my character's misadventures in Final Fantasy XIV. Exciting things are about to happen, I swear:

Taking a chance, he attempted to penetrate deeper into X’s aether and try to absorb some of it. When he did so, X recognised his presence.

i have maybe the worst type of cuteness aggression about fiction characters that im attracted to

i see guy from shows and im like ''awwh hes so cute i need to see him curled up in a ball on the floor clutching his organs and sobbing inbetween haggard breaths''

hes so pretty i need to see him writhing in agony and gasping inbetween rough sobs and covered in his own blood and visibly injured

Things you specifically or always do when playing certain videogames

I'm doing another tag game about videogames and our not-so-quirky quirks. Give 5 examples this time of habits or behaviors you commit when specific games or genres are played.

Here are mine:

  1. Yakuza Series (PS4): I always, always call the local izakaya and order a take out of tekkamaki (tuna rolls) or some kajiki sashimi. because this game has your character nosh on premium sushi. Worse when you read the description and it always gets me mouthwatering for it. Nevermind the ramen or the donburi in that game, I love sushi and I will never play the Yakuza games without a dozen or so tekkamakis!
  2. Streetfighter/Tekken: Or any one on one fighting games. I never play competitively. So when I sit in the arcade and play against the machine, and someone comes in about to pop in a coin, I always tell then "please don't. I do not want a challenger." I suck at actual human challengers. Thank goodness I've not encountered a jerk who ruins the game for me and let me finish my game.
  3. Rune Factory/Harvest Moon or any farm sim: I check the list of marriageable candidates in advance and always pick the oldest bachelor. If there is an option to create a harem, mores the fun!
  4. Resident Evil 4: I play tetris with my inventory. I am sure I am not alone in this :D
  5. The Witcher 3: Nilfgaard always win! Also, I do not search for Ciri in the Isle of Mist until I get to talk to Countess Mignole with Vesemir still alive, then talk to Vesemir about her T_T.

Oooh, that's a fun tag game, I wanna know other people's quirks!

1. Similar to Tiger's #2, I don't play with or against others if I can avoid it. I've played loads of Lord of the Rings online though, so what I did there specifically was HIDE from other players. It's a built-in mini game if you're really serious about it!

2. I think everyone playing Skyrim does it? Pick all the flowers and eat them. Did Rolof say something? Butterfly! Then get the axe into your inventory and do lots of smithing (euphemism to "steal the smithy empty").

3. There's lots of things I routinely do playing The Witcher 3, like not engaging with the minor NPCs who want me to do their petty crimes for them and buy the larger saddle bags from that merchant we saved - but the FIRST thing is always checking the y-axis, swap it back to normal, walk against a wall and set it back to inverted.

4. I haven't restarted Stardew Valley a lot but the first thing I work towards is getting that horse. SDV stresses me out. It takes half a day to get anywhere and then you have no time left to do anything and get mugged.

5. Something I do wherever possible when starting to play a game I've never played before: fall to my death.

Thank you for tagging me @bittersweetbark

I have not recently played video games, so this will be from childhood memories:

The Witcher: Nilfgaard always wins, always Romance Yennefer, Ciri becomes Empress, Dettlaff lives.

Call of Duty: Panic. Anxiety. Stress. Fuck this.

Sims 3: Always buy the house in the swamp. One of my sims will always be a gardener, and one an artist. I know the cheat codes, but the only time I ever use them is when I want to recreate a movie house. Once the house is built, the game is boring if I have nothing to work towards.

Age of Empires 3: BUILD A WALL all around my town. Kill as few sheep as possible (even though I love the lollollo sound). Always play either "islands" or "Black Forest"

Im tagging

Thanks for tagging me, also I'm feeling very old right now, if you consider playing TW3 a childhood memory 😂 Anyway, quirks and whatnot around games... I don't play a lot, but when I play, I play obsessively. So:

Baldur's Gate 3: I can't play without walking absolutely every corner, stretching the map to its ends. Some decisions are also fixed: no ascension, no gods, and Wulbren can go to hell 😂

The Witcher 3: Yeah, same, Nilfgaard always wins. I do prefer the empress ending and Dettlaff alive. My first playthroughs were always Yennefer romance too, I accidentally ended with Triss once 😭 But later on, I rather had Geralt have no romance at all. If he can't have Emhyr or Regis, what's the point 😂

The Sims: I love to build a sim with infinite progeny. In early versions, you needed Ambrosia, I haven't played in a while. So my sim learned cooking and gardening first, lived basically forever and slept with the whole town 😂 Also, I enjoyed finding ways to kill sims, like drowning in the pool (when it was still possible that they couldn't leave without a ladder). Wow, that sounds... strange 😈

Gwent (the app version, not the ingame one): I exclusively play Nilfgaard, changed that only briefly to reach pro-rank. My favorite deck is a poison deck.

Cities Skylines: Just like in Sims, I'm always cheating to have infinite money.

Oh, who to tag... maybe @suomi932654, @satirickitty, @humbae, @definitely-not-iorveth and @louwitcher would like to join?

Thank you very much for the tag dear @do-androids-dream-ao3acc

I don't play as many different games these days as I used to play, but in MMORPGS I prefer to always be a healer, explore everything I can (or can't), and fish a lot.

In Sims torturing my Sims was the way to go :D
