“Silver forests and red fields..” Rose murmured, a smile on her face.  It had been a long time since she had seen the stars, felt her feet on the soil of another planet.  “Yeah, I think I’d like that.”  She confessed and closed her eyes, breathing in the scent that was still uniquely the Doctor.  It was softer now, but nonetheless still as soothing and comforting to Rose as it always had been.
She grinned and bit her lip, the Doctor wanted her to travel in the TARDIS again, it was truly something she had never considered.  “Yeah, that does have a good ring to it, The Doctor and Rose Tyler, in the TARDIS.”
“Remember when I promised you forever?”  She asked suddenly, lifting her head slightly to look at the Doctor.  “I don’t even remember the name of that planet, just remember we were on the top of that mountain, staring out at the red rocks, what looked to be prehistoric creatures flying around above us and I promised you that I would stay with you forever…I wanted to so badly then..and that hasn’t changed.”

The doctor wrapped her arms around her waist and cuddled her close. This was nice… She had missed this… quite a bit.

“Are you really sure? Now that you can probably keep that promise… are you sure you want to stay with someone like me? Someone who constantly gets people killed and brings death and chaos where ever they go… Are you defiantly sure, because Forever is a very long time…” She murmured.

“Doctor..” Rose trailed off and shook her head.  “You bring so much more than that.  You also bring hope.”  She smiled and sighed happily. “You show people that there’s a better way, it might not be the easiest way but it’s always for the better.”

She hated that the Doctor felt like that, felt like a harbinger of death.  “Of course I’m sure.  Forever, I want to travel with you, run beside you, laugh and help others.  The stuff of legend, remember?”

The doctor laughed softly and kissed her temple. “You sure you are not biased?” She joked it off.

“But yes, I remember and thank you. Rose Tyler… i-"she looked at her with slight hesitation, her eyes flicking to her lips and back "Thank you.” She kissed her cheek.

“Well...maybe a bit biased, I mean, you are the most important person I’ve ever met in my life.  I speak from experience, a universe without the Doctor is not a universe in which I want to live.”

Rose blushed furiously when she felt the Doctor’s lips on her cheek.  Holding hands, forehead kisses, cheek kisses, those were all things that were pretty common between them..but this, this felt different.  “My pleasure..Doctor.”

“I’m glad too, I have missed your hugs..” Rose confessed quietly and smiled.  When she finally had her fill of hugging the Doctor she giggled.  “Yeah, her flower bed, you’ll be hearing about it later I’m sure.”
Rose stood up and started packing the tea cups and saucers on the tray.  “I’m going to go rinse these out and then we can head back to mine..”  She stopped halfway to the kitchen.  “I’m glad you’re here Doctor..”

“I have missed your hugs as well.“ The Doctor said. She really had. In her mind, Rose really did give the best hugs. She listened to her mention about what she said about the flower bed. “Mmm, I am sure I will.“ She said.

The Doctor watched as Rose stood up. She nodded. “Okay.” She said. The Doctor was about to look out of the window when he heard Rose. “I am glad you are here. You were the last person I was expecting to see here.”

“Not a bad unexpected though is it?”  She asked with a grin.  “I mean, could be worse, could have been my Mum..still owes you a slap or three, though now I can just hear her..”  She rolled her eyes and shook her head.

Once the kitchen was tidy Rose looked out the back to the TARDIS.  “She’s changed too, I mean, from the last time I saw her.  She’s so shiny and..Spock.”

“Those happened for real, Rose.” He began, following after her to the kitchen. “They’re not dreams. Everything you saw happened and they were just erased.” The Doctor just stood there, arms crossed under his chest. He knew the memories he had shown her would probably trigger it to make her remember everything.

“Did you know that this might happen?  That I would come back to this universe but have no memory of our time together?  That I would have memories of being passed around from foster home to foster home, no one wanting me?”  She slammed the butter knife down on the counter.

Rose pulled away with an eyebrow arched.  “You mean you weren’t a hugger?  You’ve been a hugger with the two incarnations that I knew.”  She didn’t wait for an answer, just hugged the Doctor again.
“Whenever you’re ready, we can get you back to my place and you can recover there..or in the TARDIS, I’m sure Sarah Jane won’t mind you being in her flower bed.”

“I was a hugger in my eleventh incarnation as well.“ The Doctor told her. “Seems like my last one wasn’t.“ She said. “It just seemed like…I don’t know. Like I was uncomfortable when people hugged me. I’m glad to be back to loving the hugs now.“

The Doctor nodded. “Maybe back to your place. At least the others will probably be back when we go back to the TARDIS.” She said to her. “I landed in her flower bed?”

“I’m glad too, I have missed your hugs..” Rose confessed quietly and smiled.  When she finally had her fill of hugging the Doctor she giggled.  “Yeah, her flower bed, you’ll be hearing about it later I’m sure.”

The Doctor was already getting bored. It was already the 27th book he was reading and that was the only time he gave up. Getting off the couch, he ran to the console room and had the TARDIS materialized in Rose’s living room around morning. The Time Lord was so worried that he wanted to check if she was doing alright.  “Rose?” He called out, “I’m here! Just like what I promised!”

Rose walked out of her bedroom calmly.  “Whatever it was that you did to me yesterday..those memories you shared, YOUR memories..they’ve done something.”  She walked into the kitchen and started the kettle.  “I had dreams last night, dreams of the memories you shared but they weren’t dreams and they weren’t your memories.”

She turned to face him, leaning against the counter.  “I was seeing things, feeling things through my eyes..almost like remembering.  But how can I remember a timeline that never happened?  Or did happen but was erased?”

@rosetotherescue liked this for a prison verse starter

Image

Basil approached the woman slowly, eyes narrowing as he tried to work her out. “Are you a visitor or a new prisoner?” He asked her, taking the seat next to her. It was lunch hour, and Basil had been wandering around on his own as usual up until now. He didn’t normally see other people on their own - prisoners generally stuck together in groups.

Image

Rose glanced up at the man who approached, as far as prisons go, this one wasn’t so bad.  She had landed here by accident, the dimension hopper that she stole was once again working but apparently it was no longer working to find the Doctor.  Instead she ended up here, in prison, for having technology without a license or permit.  “New..well, new to this prison, been in prison’s before loads of times.”  She grinned.  “Used to run with a bloke that was nothing but trouble.”

@rosetotherescue liked this for a dark verse starter

A twig was held in the Doctor’s cold, bony hands, held out in front of him on display. Slowly but with clear intention, he snapped the twig, and smiled at the wood splintering.

“That’s a human life. That’s what I could do.”

He dropped both pieces of the twig, letting them fall to the ground. “And now they’re useless.”

Image

“Just because something is broken doesn’t mean it’s useless.” She said softly.  “You can now take those two twigs and use them to start a fire or roast marshmallows..”

Rose took a deep breath.  “Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you will..”  This was not the Doctor she remembered.  When she got the call to come the last person she expected to see was the Doctor.  She thought it was just a routine drill, an alien standoff.  Her surprise when she pulled up and saw the TARDIS though was unimaginable.

Rose blinked several times.  “Blimey you’ve been busy..” She whispered and shook her head.  “Gallifrey is still around?  But..but I thought you were the last, that you destroyed it?  You told me that on our first date..”  Rose smiled fondly, remembering big ears and leather.  “Bit skewed your sense of romance then yeah?  First date, take me to see the Earth burn alive..then make me pay for chips..”
The Doctor hadn’t been alone, which was good, great even.  They were rubbish at alone, regardless of what face that they have.  “Wait..back up, Jack, our Jack is the Face of Boe?  The same Face of Boe we met on Platform One?” She asked and shivered.  “How did he end up just a big old..head?”
There would be time later for the Doctor to tell Rose of all her brilliant adventures, which Rose knew that they would be.  They would be heartwrenching and beautiful. For now Rose was content to just be here, with the Doctor knowing that the woman was going to help her.
“So, this other Time Lady Missy..used to be the Master..”  She paused and shook her head.  “I’ve heard a couple of stories about him..James told me some about growing up, the academy and how you guys were the best of friends.”

The doctor gave a sheepish smile. She never was good with romance in any of her regenerations.

“Gallifrey was saved… by me, myself and I… quite literally, My 10th, 11th and War self.. all of my regenerations got together, with their Tardises, did a thing and put the planet a second out of sink with the rest of the world… afterwards, my War self regenerated into old big ears when he left, but he couldn’t remember that he saved Gallifrey because of there was 3 of us being there… And it all took place in a Dusty old barn.”

The question about Jack just made her shrug. “Immortality is a strange thing… you never know what it’s going to do to you.”

“Oh? Did he tell you that The Master was my first Man-Crush? We were going to travel the stars together… we thought we were the same, only to find out, when we grew up, that we were different.” She hummed softly and pulled Rose closer, wrapping her arms around the woman.

“Say… If possible, would you like to go see Gallifrey? I mean, I'm sure id be able to find it, I’ve been back once before… so I should be able to get us there.”

Rose blanched slightly at the mention of a dusty old barn.  Could it be the same barn from her dreams? “We’ll have to discuss more of that later..the barn that is.  So right after you saved Gallifrey you regenerated into the Doctor that I met first?”

She giggled at his confession about the Master.  “Nope, didn’t know that, though it’s not surprising, heard he, or she now I suppose, had an ego and a gob to match your own, only natural you’d crush on someone like that.”  Rose settled down into the couch and laid her head on the Doctor’s shoulder.  They had spent many evenings like this, drifting in the vortex, sitting on a couch watching Harry Potter and various Disney movies.

“I don’t know, what you told me about Gallifrey was that they didn’t really like humans all that much, and whatever’s going on with me, I think I’m still human.”  She said softly.  “But you know at the end of the day I would go anywhere with you.”

“Don’t worry, we will.” She then nodded. “Mhm, into good old big-ears and leather jacket, 6 months later I met you.”

The doctor retaliated to her teasing my sticking her tongue out at her.

“Don't worry, I wouldn't let anything happen to you, Plus I’m a War Hero there now… Or I was last time I went… and we would just go to the market in the Citadel, perhaps have a wander through the Silver forests and the red fields.”

“The doctor and Rose Tyler, Time and space, Just like it should be.”

He had left. The TARDIS materialized somewhere in space and now he had the freedom whatever he wanted to do. The Doctor sighs, choosing to spend the rest of his time in the library to distract himself from the thoughts he was having–about the things that happened earlier. He may be worried about Rose, but he knows she’ll be alright. He knows she needed some sleep.

It wasn’t long after she fell into the bed that the dreams started.  She had received the Doctor’s memories but they were out of context.  There was not any emotion on her side, not really.  Not until she dreamed of being trapped in a basement, shop window dummies surrounding her.  The fear she felt, the surprise when a man grabbed her hand and told her to run.  The mystery he presented, the intrigue.  She could feel all of that now.  She wasn’t reliving his memories, she was regaining hers.

She woke up six hours later, heart heavy, she only had a few dreams, most of what he had shown her still were only his memories..though hopefully with time she would start to piece together her life that never was..or once was but forgotten.

Rose breathed a sigh of relief, she didn’t make the Doctor ill.  The Doctor wanted her to go with her because she was Rose Tyler and the Doctor was and forever would be the Doctor.  The Doctor and Rose Tyler belonged together, in the TARDIS.
“If you mean it, of course I will go with you.  I have nothing here but friends..and we can visit yeah?” She asked, her grin getting wider by the second.

The Doctor kept her eyes on her. She knew that Rose could easily just turn her down and decide to stay on Earth. She was was ready for her to say no. For her to say that she didn’t want to go travelling with her.

She was taken by surprise when Rose said that if she meant it, then she would go traveling in the TARDIS again. “Of course I mean it. And yes. We can visit. They are my friends as well so of course we will.” The Doctor said. She hugged Rose. Pulling back, she looked at her. “I just realized something. I am a hugger again.”

“Yes.” The Doctor returned the smile slightly, watching her get to the door. “The TARDIS just knows… Now, go. You need rest. I know you need it.” He’s sure that she was overwhelmed by the memories he had shown her earlier. Sleep will probably help her from getting over it. Before he would let Rose go, he tells her. “Rest well, Rose. I promise I’ll be here tomorrow.”

Rose nodded and gave him a tight lipped smile.  She stepped out of the TARDIS and then turned to look at the strange blue box.  A part of her knew that she was missing something other than her parents..maybe, maybe this was it.  The life that never was.

She had just stepped into her bedroom when the whirling, groaning started, she ducked back out into the living room and watched as the TARDIS disappeared.  She knew it did that thanks to the memories he had given her..but seeing it was something else.

Rose didn’t even take her clothes off, she fell into bed, emotionally exhausted from the days events.
