April Reading List
It’s time for a new reading list, a collection of our top comic picks for the month of April.
DESCENDER #2 (Story by Jeff Lemire / Art by Dustin Nguyen) Why we like it: After the amazing beginning, the second issue lands for one of the most exciting new series of 2015. Puts the “must” in must read.
PRINCESS LEIA #3 (Art by Terry Dodson) Why we like it: Star. Wars. After the insane excitement generated by the FORCE AWAKENS trailer, people are clamoring to return to that galaxy far, far away. Ahead of the December onslaught of the new movie, Mark Waid is delving into Princess Leia’s past in this fun, adventure filled tale.
PISCES #1 (Story by Kurtis J. Wiebe / Art by Johnnie Christmas) Why we like it: Kurtis Wiebe the man behind RAT QUEENS is back with a new creator series. Joined by artist Johnnie Christmas, Wiebe tells of the tale of a Vietnam vet struggling to find his way in life and becomes part of a secret NASA program. A unique twist of SF and horror from a daring creator.
FRANK MILLER’S RONIN GALLERY EDITION (Story and art by Frank Miller) Why we like it: Why? Ronin. Nuff said. One of Frank Miller’s early masterpieces is giving the artist edition love. See his incredible line work in detail. A must for Miller fans.
POSTAL #3 (Story by Bryan Hill and Matt Hawkins / Art by Isaac Goodhart) Why we like it: This cult critical hit has a dash of Twin Peaks as it explores a murder in the most unlikely place: a town that is a haven for fugitive criminals who have gone into hiding. An inventive concept, well executed.
April is almost over, but your reading has just begun! Enjoy!
We are proud to announce that Grant Morrison, the writer of the mind-bending original series #Annihilator, has been nominated for the prestigious Eisner Award for 'Best Writer’!
