We finally have an update!!

My BFF’s dad was last seen on Friday June 10th, 2016 in Salmon Arm, BC. My local police service believe he is heading towards the MacMillan Provincial Park area on Vancouver Island.

If you or anyone you know is in that area, please share this post. Hell, even if you don’t know anyone in that area, please share this post and spread the word. CBC finally put out an article about his disappearance and I’m hoping that we’ll get more news about this soon. It’s good to know that he’s still alive, even if we don’t know about why or where he is

Thanks for all the reblogs so far guys!

riseofthefallenone:

I’m going to get real for a bit here, guys. Please take a moment to read this and reblog.
Guy Lyrette is my best friend’s father. He was last seen in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Saturday June 4th, 2016. On Monday he did not show up at work. On Tuesday his family was notified that he had not gone to work again without notice which is VERY unlike him. When his home was checked, Guy and his car were not there. All calls to his cell phone are going straight to voicemail. Again, very unlike him. He never misses his daughter’s calls.
The police have been notified and the hospitals have been checked. The police pinged his cell phone and it was last on in Calgary, Alberta on the afternoon of Wednesday June 8th, 2016. This is very unusual as he has no reason to be in Calgary and he takes a completely different route when he goes to visit his family in Edmonton. No one has seen or heard from him since Saturday.
Please share this post and spread the word. Please help my best friend find her dad. They are very close and I can’t imagine what she’s going through right now.
If you have seen Guy Lyrette or have any information on his location, please either let me know or send an e-mail to the address on the poster. That is his daughter, Alisha.

This filter is everything, but in all seriousness, I am still exhausted. I kid people about not going into social work, but honestly it takes a certain kind of person who's willing to face the realities of unpaid hours and sleepless nights. I stumbled into this field, and I don't regret it, but the politics are enough at times to make a person sick. I pay for a lot of stuff out of my own pocket. I use my gas to transport clients. I worry about them when I go home. I worry even more when I'm with them. But it is worth it, when you get to see someone feel good about themselves over a successful job interview or the smile that comes with finally getting clothes that fit. I'm going back in tomorrow, even though I could probably use a few more days to hibernate. Today, I'm going thrift shopping for summer shorts and socks.

An Amber Alert has been issued by the RCMP in Crowsnest Pass, Alta., in the abduction of a two-year-old girl.
The alert is in place for Alberta, B.C. and Saskatchewan.
Police say Hailey Dunbar-Blanchette was taken from a home in Blairmore about 3:30 a.m. MT on Monday.
Cpl. Sharon Franks says the RCMP did not receive a call until 11 a.m., which is why the Amber Alert was not issued until later in the day.
The young girl has light brown straight hair with bangs, and brown eyes.
Police said they don’t know who took her in a vehicle that fled at a high rate of speed, heading west.
The vehicle is described as a newer model white van with a large rear antenna and a flag attached.
Police are asking people not approach the vehicle and to call Blairmore RCMP at 403-562-2866 with any information.
Crowsnest Pass Mayor Blair Painter said news of the abduction is reverberating through his community.
“Most people know each other. News travels very quickly and especially traumatic news travels quickly,” he said. “Our  community will be willing to support this family in anyway possible.”

The disappearance of a Halifax university student on the weekend has police and his family baffled.
Taylor Samson, 22, was last seen on Saturday night after he left his home in the city’s south end to go for a walk. His family says it’s not like Samson — a physics student at Dalhousie University starting his fifth year of study — to drop off the map.
“I’m really concerned about his disappearance,” said Connor Samson, Taylor’s brother. “It’s not like him to disappear like that out of thin air.”
Samson’s family and friends travelled to Halifax from their hometown of Amherst as soon as they heard he was missing. They put up posters around Halifax until 4 a.m. on Tuesday.
“It doesn’t really make sense to any of us,” said Chris Rhindress, a friend of Samson’s since childhood.
[…]
Samson is six feet five inches tall, around 210 pounds, with brown eyes and short hair.
Police are asking anyone with information to call 902-490-5020.
