you're going about your normal day when, suddenly, surprise! you've been pokémon mystery dungeon'd!

unfortunately, due to budget cuts, the pokémon assigning quiz has been canceled. instead, you must spin THE WHEEL, assigning you a random, unevolved, non-legendary and non-mythical pokémon. you must now go on some sort of world-saving adventure as this pokémon. good luck!

tell me in the tags what you rolled, and how you feel about it - for bonus points, you can spin the wheel again for (or just take your pick of) a pokémon to be your partner.

bonus rules:

  • you're not shiny unless the wheel tells you you're shiny
  • take your pick of regional forms and evolutions (for example, if you roll vulpix, it's up to you whether that means normal or alolan vulpix)
  • apply whatever logic you like with regards to gender
  • have fun and be yourself!

Give me the floor beans and let me use Double-Slap to my heart's content PUT ME IN COACH

the Barbie movie was such a weird experience because it is genuinely entertaining and funny but the metaphor presented is so bungled. like okay the whole movie’s point is “women can do whatever they want and don’t have to be second place to men” which I agree with. The metaphor they use to do this is Barbie world treating kens with an exaggerated objectification mirroring women’s treatment historically. Which, okay, that sounds fine. That makes sense. Until the Kens take over Barbie world and that’s…bad? The oppressed group rising up and taking power is the primary ticking time bomb of the film so like what are you saying? Because the words you’re saying are “girl power” but the metaphor you’re presenting is “stay in your place”

Also the way this problem is solved is barbie coming back to Barbie world with her real world friends and expounding a bunch of female specific frustrations to her brainwashed Barbie friends who have zero context for any of those frustrations because they’ve lived their whole lives as the ruling class. Like I get it. I understand what you’re saying. I also understand this film relies heavily on metaphor. This makes no sense with the internal logic you’ve presented.

The whole thing ends on a kind of snarky “Kens will get more rights when women in the real world get more rights” statement and the whole thing kinda just reeks of the same “take action!!! (but only to a socially acceptable degree)” subtext that The Batman had.

The “kens are taking over and that’s bad” kind of speaks to the immutable quality that people think the political climate has. Like okay obviously the reasoning for why it’s bad is because the kens are men and men rule the real world and create problems for women and blah blah blah

but that’s not consistent with what you’ve told me? Kens literally weren’t allowed to live in houses??? They should be hunting the Barbies for sport?????

>Kens had no home in the housing district (or anywhere it seems)

>Kens lived probably like how the 'I, Robot' robots did in the shipping crate all huddled together in the dark, and waited for a Barbie to show up to treat them as a background element or accessory

>Beach Ken's 'patriarchy' wasn't even the real deal as he got bored doing research and finding it wasn't about horses, so he invented his own that WAS about cool fashion and horses (god forbid someone bring up REAL world and currently active patriarchy....you'll get accused of being racist or using 'whattaboutism'; because women not being allowed to go topless in public in the US is the same as in other countries where women are borderline property and if they try to exercise basic human freedoms, then it's fine to go ahead and beat them~)

>when the Kens were in control they still kept the Barbies around and while being stupid, still treated things as equal (they never said they were smarter or better than Barbie. They just wanted a turn ruling things and mostly just acted like Johnny Bravo jockos). This is seen as LITERALLY HITLER and the 'real good 'way was back to putting Kens under the Barbie boot and banished to live on the beach(?)

>when a Ken pipes up with asking for some kind of political power after talk of things being more equal, he gets shut the fuck down and this is the joke and them having NO power was their "rightful place"

>Typical Barbie gets heads out to be a real gal and start a new life, escaping the moop of "ruining the lives of women and girls everywhere" said by terminally online losers, while Beach Ken............................gets a sweet fur coat and is allowed to stay in the house I guess?

The movie is just a movie and shouldn't have much thought put into it. Because when you do analyze shit and try to find a message, all it shows is we don't have an actual 'patriarchy' in the real world but still INSISTS that there always was one and things never changed since the 50's, all men are stupid greedy idiots who shouldn't be in control of anything, and unironically pull a 'all animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others'. Just swap 'animal' with 'gender' and man, kinda fucked up there.

This movie feels like it should have come out in 2016, given how many people came out (and probably still think) saying "if you rooted for Ken, then you missed the point of the movie and probably hate women".

this website is so fucking unusable I swear to god. it proudly displays shit MONTHS OLD and recycles the same twelve posts infinitely. I see a few new things after not using this place for a few months. X-kit is perma-broke it seems too. holy fuck I wish this place would get shut down already because I don't see it being fixed up at all with how bad this is. I've no idea how anyone uses this site or can stand to use it anymore.

Censorship of sexual content (usually in games) is such a fucking frustrating mess because the conversation is always dominated by right leaning people decrying the censorship and left leaning people making fun of the upset perverts which is SO BACKWARDS

like I’m not crazy right? Every time it happens it’s like you stepped into bizarro world? It’s a conservative right wing thing to censor sexual art on the grounds of obscenity yes? Then the liberal left wing response would be to decry the censorship, correct?

But like

it’s always the opposite

every time???

NO.

It's not always the right-leaning. Hillary Clinton, Tipper Gore, Barbra Bush, and other folks are lefties and heavily (maybe first?) invoked "think of the children" and wanted to block bad lyrics, violent stuff, sexual stuff and all that~ Don't think it's -only- righties. Righty folks also play the 'think of the children' card and censor for "anti-patriotic" or "christian family values" reasons, but it's foolish to think ONLY one side does this shit.

There is no one-true political alignment for old ass prudes =V

Not really, tumblr. Had a whole different name, whole different feel, whole different everything way back when. Then many periods of nothing and neglect until settling on 98% bein' reblogs. The -use- of this is about 13 years old. But the blog itself certainly ain't that old. It died many years ago. This is but a phantom that lingers regardless of time~

Nobody is allowed to say my toys are weird. Every time normies get obsessed with something it’s stupid like overdesigned sneakers or insulated cups

Snowglobes, spoons, thimbles, Beenie Babies, tacky Elvis or Star Trek collectable plates to hang on the wall or set on an upright display thing ordered from the home shopping channel, Venetian masks, Precious Moments figures...........ain't nobody got room to look down at others for what they collect. Except for Funko Pop figures. Soulless corpo schlock that's mondo over-priced.

I Want To Wear A Collar In Public

then do it

Ah but you see me being in public is dependent on other people most of whom I would have to have an awkward conversation with to explain the collar

"Why are you wearing a collar….?"

"Because I want to."

Say you plan to get a harness and want to try an' get into places under the guise of being a service/support dog for free~
