A leaf from my Variegated String of Hearts plant my sister gave me that almost died but came back to life 😅 Good thing I decided to hang on to it and gave it a chance. It survived on 4 leaves then it grew back again after a year 🙌 I was so happy!

This week was Spring break for my kids. We didn’t travel anywhere and decided to just do staycation 😊 My husband & I took a day off on Monday to go to the Houston Zoo with our kids. Or at least that was the plan. The zoo was “like a zoo”! 🤪 The line was so long because all the school districts in the greater Houston are doing Spring Break on the same week this year 🤷🏻♀️ So we decided to just hang out at the nearby park, got some vegan gelato, and rented a pedal boat. It turned out to be so fun and relaxing! We had a gorgeous day with a cloudy sky and lots of cool breeze. On the walk back to our car, I saw this tree that was completely covered in what I thought were red leaves. Turned out they were red maple seeds! Never saw this type of tree in Houston before. I took some for this color match. It was a truly lovely day 🥰

Lantana flower buds from my backyard. They look like teeny tiny little bow ties 😙 Credit goes to the bird who probably pooped out the seeds, as I didn’t do anything. The plant just popped up one day and kept growing 😁

A seashell piece I found at South Padre Island beach during my family vacation two weeks ago. It grabbed my attention because of the gray blue color and the “flecks” of gold.
It was our first time going to South Padre Island, and it’s safe to say it’s become our family’s new favorite vacay spot in Texas 💙 We spent lots of times on the beach, of course. My kids loved every moment of it! We came home so refreshed after this trip. I’m hoping we can go again pretty soon!

Purslane flower.
I bought a Purslane plant in a hanging pot to replace another plant that died during the Texas freeze in February. This plant can grow easily between concrete cracks and is considered a weed. But it has gorgeous flowers!
You can eat them too — leaves, stems, flowers, seeds! Its properties include vitamins A, B and C, magnesium, potassium, iron, calcium, and Omega 3. What’s not to love? 💕😍
