I recognize this in my own psychology, and believe that this desire women have to feel powerful, in the face of powerlessness, is one of the underlying trends in feminist conflict and female confusion. 

It’s really hard to admit that we are powerless. It’s easier to convince ourselves that we are choosing to be objectified and dehumanized. It’s easier to convince ourselves that men desire us sexually because we are powerful, and not because they are powerful, and we are the targets of their sexually fueled desire to subordinate and dominate women.
