I’m not sure if this would count as a spoiler or not but Ash finally going back for Pidgeot after all this time AND the fact Pidgeot re-joined his team had me in tears. It was just so cathartic after all those years ;w;
This guy decided to take 13,150 revives to show up, I forgot I hadn’t posted about this--
I did this hunt in batches of 150 fossils that took about 45-50 minutes each to revive. Needless to say I am very happy to have got the shiny boy~
Hello, have you met my giant puppy?
Oh yeah, the Talonflame in that Heracross gif was named nick=lucas since I used them to remind a person I was trading with to nickname a Pokemon they were hatching for me Lucas. That Lucas was my shiny Meowstic~
I don’t think the guy was very impressed with the whole being burned thing.
Maybe its because she has the guts ability
I’ve seen this post floating around numerous places lately and can confirm, she did not have Guts. But she sure got some Moxie!
congrats!! i just got shiny nickit after 2286 encounters, a lucky night!
Nice~ thank you and congrats yourself!
As a throwback to my ORAS trainer, here’s Kyou!
Just hatched this cutie at a little over 400 eggs~
HE’S SO HAPPY
AND AS AM I
I’m so glad Masters seems to be getting Barry’s characterization right so far because he’s been severely misrepresented in the anime and the manga.
NOT ENOUGH
The fact that there’s no context is a shame, because it’s really good.
Just for a little more context: this was in the VGC 2014 meta, where the amount of redirection users were a lot more limited (Kalos dex only). A few people had tried using Pachirisu at the start of the year (so it wasn’t completely out of nowhere) but by the end it was definitely a unique pick for the state of the meta at Worlds. People were comfortable with how things were and didn’t account for people bringing such a Pokemon (or didn’t know it was even a thing). Since the role it played was redirection, paralyzing things, Super Fang doing a flat 50% damage, all its EVs could be focused more on the defensive side. It was also used to protect Gyarados from electric-type attacks while healing itself off.
Also, yeah, SeJun is a good player, that always helps~
Oh and to clear up any confusion based on some reblogs I’ve seen, Pachirisu isn’t a fairy-type, it was just bulky enough to tank the hit! For those who didn’t watch the video, it used Follow Me to take the hit. Then the Sitrus Berry activated, allowing it to heal a little bit.
Anyway, Pachirisu was a clever meta pick for the time (SeJun had previously used Follow Me Magmar, so it was on brand), that worked well for that particular tournament. A Pokemon’s usefulness in VGC is a lot different from, say, Smogon singles. Double battles make it so different Pokemon are viable because of moves that might not play a part in singles. Also limited dex formats means different Pokemon are useful each year, so unexpected Pokemon doing well at one or two events isn’t all that uncommon! Though it has to be smartly done~!
I can’t believe I haven’t introduced you all to this wonderful snek I won at the Manchester MSS! They are the perfect friend shape and also posable!
Just a quick reminder, there is no right and wrong way to play Pokemon! Competitive, casual, shiny hunting, breeding, collecting, contests, excessive use of amie/refresh, nuzlockes... there’s so many ways to enjoy the games and no reason to put others down for it.
Pokemon is pretty great in the way that the difficulty can change according to how you play and what Pokemon you pick. While, a natural challenge would be nice, I do like that there’s ways the players can increase their own gameplays difficulty by placing restrictions.
On that same note, I think features that increase accessibility in games are great. An extra difficulty does not ruin my enjoyment of a game, as I just scroll past the options and pick hard anyway. I get the experience I want, while others that may have never played that game before get a chance to! Difficulty is relative and not everyone is on a level playing field at the start, even with a ‘blank slate’.
Oh yeah, I have 236/300 championship points so I’ll most likely be going to worlds this year~ VGC 2019 has been split into three formats and we’re on Ultra Series with the European International Championship coming up and I am not prepared.
Is there a way to search up posts that have been flagged for adult content or do you have to just comb through them manually? I wanted to get all my wrongly flagged posts reviewed but finding them is the problem.
It’s okay Tumblr, I’m sure you’ll get your shiny Virizion some day!
