A super fun vignette of the 5 main characters from Stephanie Garber’s Caraval trilogy! I recently met Stephanie at YallFest and was lucky to get Legendary signed - which is my favorite of the trilogy as it introduces the first love triangle that I’ve had the most conflicting feelings about??? I would say I was 60% Dante / 40% Jacks in Legendary, and then 60% Jacks and 40% Dante in Finale. You can see my bias showing here.😏 ✨ The masks were a fun touch and I tried to make everyone hold them in a way that reflected how they figuratively mask themselves in the story - but mostly it’s because I wanted to give Legend a break from his tipping-his-hat pose and keep his anonymity (which I’m guilty of doing in the other papercraft, it’s a classic pose!) Somehow Jacks ended up looking like Draco Malfoy, which is not how I’d illustrate him, but his disheveled nature reflects to me a depressed teen, so I guess it works? ✨ This was featured in the recent Chest of Fandoms February 2020 box!
