I shoot people

@comicalscam / comicalscam.tumblr.com

when I was little I wanted to be a bank robber but my dad said that was unacceptable so I became a photographer. Its okay because the professions are pretty much the same because I still get to shoot people and take all their money _______________________________________________________________________________ email at megan@meganlphoto.com

Positive Milestone

I have just officially booked my first for-real destination wedding! The contracts have been signed and as soon as I receive the deposit, I'll book the flights. It's going to be an awesome wedding at an incredible spot in the redwoods, and the couple is simply stunning. A lot more good things about this wedding, including my boyfriend being my second shooter, and getting free room&board. Also, got my second wedding inquiry this week from Instagram! I love free business tools!

Sometimes when I'm working I like to strike a pose. I'm obviously very good at it. Photo by @jasonberryphotography

Engagement ring on film. I love how beautiful and timeless, yet nontraditional it is. If you're in the market for an engagement ring, SERIOUSLY check out @honeyjewelryco From the Styled Shoot we did last week. <3 Dress- @thedresstheory Creative Design & Styling- @kandgevents @dimplesndimples Floral design- @flowerchildsandiego Rentals- @laurensharon Engagement rings- @honeyjewelryco Venue- @caffecalabria Makeup- @pluckycharm Film lab- @richardphotolab (at North Park, San Diego)

Wild and untamed nature. I love love love it. Although this particular scene was found in a very trim and proper suburban area. I just love ivy in all forms. (I'm also dying here because there's so much I want to share but can't just yet!!) #sandiego

271/365. Decisions. by MeganLynnW Via Flickr: I feel this photo is pretty similar to a couple other photos I've taken. I'm just SUCH a sucker for window light. I'm always afraid my work is boring. But I want it to be simplistic and understated. But then might it be plain? I want to say that all that matters is that I like it. But I'm not the ultimate authority on what is or is not good! I want criticism. I want to improve. I want others to love my work as much as I do. I want people to tell me what irks them about my work. While I completely appreciate and am incredibly thankful for anyone who comments on my photos, a "lovely photo!" or "great work" isn't very helpful.

 In this photo I have my back turned to the camera. I am deciding between the perspective of the camera and between the apparent appeal of the light. I chose this image to be (relatively) colorful because it's not a dark image. There is just as much potential for a bad outcome as there is for a good.

 Happy Christmas out there

270/365. Succulent. by MeganLynnW Via Flickr: You know some of those people that are just so exhausting to be around? Like they suck the life out of you. Most people are like that for me. It is the few and far between who are not. But I guess that's just being an introvert.

 I wonder why that is. What personality trait is it that does that? Is it a pheromone? Is it my fault for not trying hard enough, or not being good enough to get along with? I think the people who you feel exhausted with are those who you might be trying too hard with. That you have to act around. And then there are those who are just easy to be with. It's like breathing. It's natural. It just is**. But then there are those who are exhilarating, who make you feel alive. There are very few of these, and I think that's a good thing- too much might be like standing on the edge of a cliff. There's a thrill, but that's just not where you can live your life.

 **Hey, you

This is what a wedding ceremony is all about. Those adoring looks. Huge laughs. Soft light. This is from my first official wedding that I took video for! #weddingcinema #weddingfilm
