Big math news! It’s been thirty years since mathematicians last found a convex pentagon that could “tile the plane.” The latest discovery (by Jennifer McLoud-Mann, Casey Mann, and David Von Derau) was published earlier this month. Full story.
This is really fun to watch
Nerdhands update
Sorry
I need the strength to finish this
in grade 6 and every time we had a movie day or class party id ask my mom for a can of doctor pepper but i had to keep it in my backpack and it always got shaken up and would explode when i opened it bcus we all know dr pepper has much more chaos inside the can than any other soda and anyways my whole class instinctively knew every time that my doctor pepper would explode and we'd have to pause the movie and clean it up and id usually be covered in dr pepper for the rest of the day and be super embarrassed and this happened to me about twelve times throughout the year. you might be wondering why i couldnt keep my dr pepper in my locker until we watched the movie and its because i didnt have a locker in grade six after i left a piece of pumpkin pie that my teacher gave me in there for a month and it rotted and molded so bad and there were maggots everywhere so one day i locked the locker and refused to open it ever again so for a whole year i carried all my stuff around because i was afraid to go to admin and tell them about my maggot pie because someone started a rumor that if the principle figured out you did something bad she would lock you down in the basement storage room that was infamous for having a giant rat that lived inside of it and i was afraid of rats after seeing ratatouille because i thought a rat might climb inside my hair and start controlling me and force me to do things i didnt want to do like make soup
Hey everyone! So I’ve had a Patreon for a few weeks, and it’s been a LOT of fun putting up art! Give it a looksie if you’d like, but patrons get early access, exclusive access, contacts, merch, requests, free commissions, and postcards from me. The postcards have yet to be sent, because I still have to buy fixative spray. But you need money to buy things. So here we are!
I’m currently working on a big comic project that only patrons get to see, review, and give feedback on. Other than my art prof friend, of course.
If you want to support me, the lowest tier is $1 (tip jar!) but to be a patron, it’s $3. I welcome feedback on the pricing of my tiers, so if you think something is too high (or god forbid, too low) please talk to me!
P.S. all of these are snippets of full things, but that last one? Yknow, with the faces? If you’re a patron for 3 months, you get a free sticker. It’s the best I can do for now, BUT I’m looking to make my own kind of merch when I can get printmaking supplies! Anyway. If you read all of this, I love you. Also, if you reblogged this, I love you more than the guy who just read this. And if you’re a patron? Let’s get hitched.
(And if you aren’t already following me, give me a looksie on instagram. Currently working on a comic. )
Imo the “bad boy who’s only nice secretly/after you get through his layers” trope in media functions as propaganda designed to get you to second guess yourself and your experiences in order to give bad men a chance. Some things need to be taken at face value and if he treats people like shit he is in fact a bad person even if he’s nice to you sometimes. Stop looking for hidden meaning and depth in his actions. He’s not misunderstood he’s just an asshole and it’s not your job to shovel through the shit to get to the disappointing “good” parts
I finally did some emojis that aren’t bugs, & variations of them! LGBT pride samus emojis + her light suit bc it’s my fav :-)

Do you like games? Trapped at home? Wanna have a fresh experience starring people of color front-and-center?
Let’s talk about ValiDate: Struggling Singles in your Area. A dating sim with a twist.
** (DEMO LINK) ** (KICKSTARTER PAGE) **
Currently one of the top games on Itchio’s dating sim category, written, drawn, fully scored & produced by a diverse team of creators of color, it recently hit funding on Kickstarter, and with 19 days to go you can still help it become fully-realized with all the cool CG art and extra content it deserves!
From the Kickstarter page:
“ValiDate is a visual novel in which you maneuver yourself through the twisting paths of young adulthood.
Set in the Jercy City area, twelve struggling singles in their twenties navigate through the trying ordeals of capitalism to find meaning in their lives. Includes a hint of love, cosplay, and even mediocre mixtapes in the mix.
With 12 playable characters and over 30 routes to choose from, there will be about 20-30 hours of content, depending on how you play it. We don’t know if you be reading fast or not. Whether your decisions are good, bad, or just tremendously shitty, you’re going to have a great time falling in (or out) of love with these characters.“
The twist, if you didn’t catch it, is that instead of playing as a singular protagonist, you’ll be able to play as *12 distinct characters* trying (and failing) to romance one another, as their lives intersect in unprecedented ways.
At the time of writing, you can play as 4 of the main characters (with a demo update coming soon to showcase a bit of Malik’s route) & meet a couple more! they are:
Thanks to the Kickstarter campaign, you’ll now be ALSO able to meet:
- 12 playable characters with 30+ routes.
- The ability to choose horrible decisions and see the entertaining fallout.
- #OwnVoices narrative writing by an all people of color team.
- Original score by the Boys.
- A beautiful array of artists of color’s work to give each character their own individual feeling.
- Backgrounds taken from all around the world.
- Flawed characters undergoing narrative arcs handled with empathy and self-indulgence.
- Achievements for every single ending.
Since the campaign has been funded, TWO of the stretch goals have already been hit, but there’s more to come.
you see, i really want that fishing minigame.
