reasons why my grandpa is the best:

  • he made my wife and i (i’m a woman) a giant banner for our one year anniversary
  • when i was pregnant, the baby was kicking and when he touched my belly, the baby stopped and he called him a little shit
  • he once called and left a voicemail asking how to spell styrofoam
  • he flipped a table bc he saw someone hit a dog
  • he beat skrim in 4 days
  • he served in the korean war and when he came home, he learned korean so if he ever ran into a korean vet, he could “give them the same respect he’d give an american vet”
  • my son has two moms and there was a “special guy in your life” day at his school for father’s day so my grandpa went and showed up in dress pants and a pressed shirt bc he “didn’t want to embarrass him”. also, there was a little boy who didn’t have anyone there and grandpa asked if he could be his “special guy” and the little boy beamed
  • he knows all of the secrets to the zelda games
  • he’s had 4 open heart surgeries and can still kick your ass

Money - the root of all evil - a necessary evil

I’m having a difficult time making a good budget for my fiance and I. The issue is we get paid at totally random times.

I get paid bi-weekly and he gets paid bi-monthly.

My bi-weekly paycheck fluctuates in amount because I get a base pay plus commission.

His bi-monthly paychecks also change. Each paycheck is either 80 hours, 90 hours, or 110 hours. There is also no pattern to it.

Anyone out there have a tried and true budget they use that they think might work for something like this?

My husband and I both use YNAB. It’s basically envelope based budgeting. We haven’t used the new subscription version but have had huge success with the older version. The basic question of it is “what does this money need to do before I get paid again”. My husband has paid off around $3,000 worth of credit card debt in the past 6 months of using it and we have a joint emergency fund of about $1,000. It’s been life changing.

I will definitely look into it! My fiance and I actually moved home with our patents for 8 months ago to save money and have paid off nearly 10k in credit debt. We're planning to move back in together in April. We both have 1 card left to pay off but then we have our pile of student loans lol. Thanks for the suggestion!

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 22, 2016. 12:34 LOCAL TIME. DESPITE THE FACT THAT ARIZONA’S DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY HAS ALREADY BEEN CALLED IN FAVOR OF HILLARY CLINTON, RESIDENTS OF ARIZONA ARE STILL WAITING TO CAST THEIR VOTE. MANY HAVE BEEN WAITING IN LINE FOR UPWARDS OF 6 HOURS. AS IT BECOMES CLEAR THAT ARIZONA VOTERS HAVE BEEN MISLED, RE-REGISTERED WITHOUT THEIR CONSENT, LIED TO, DEFRAUDED, AND TURNED AWAY FROM POLING PLACES TOO CROWDED TO ACCOMMODATE THEM, MANY SOURCES ARE BEGINNING TO CITE VOTER SUPPRESSION AS THE TRUE REIGNING CHAMPION OF TONIGHT’S ELECTION.

Here is a White House petition to get a federal investigation into voter fraud/voter suppression in Arizona. Please sign this!! It’s speculated that Bernie Sanders voters were targeted and we deserve a chance at fair voting.

SIGN THE PETITION

IT TAKES FOUR SECONDS

This is fucking unacceptable and it’s WHY our generation doesn’t fucking trust the system enough to vote, when our voices are the ones that matter most. I am fucking terrified that this election will be decided by people over 50 years old. Because you know what? It’s not their goddamn future we’re talking about here. It’s OURS. Do not let them set us up for failure. Sign the petition.

Also weird I reblobbed the other money one last night and a freelance check I invoiced for a month ago came in.

seriously have nothing to lose

Did it once might as well let it stack. At least I’m not buying loto tickets

You guys, I reblogged this 2 days ago out of desperation. Today I was looking through my old wallet for coins to go to the vending machine because that’s all I can fucking afford. I haven’t touched this thing since July/ August. When I found a disappointing 15 cents in the coin pocket I went to the billfold to see if any coins were in there. That’s when I saw them. 5 crisp bills amounting to $22. I literally screamed and danced around my room out of joy before remembering that I’d reblogged this post.

Tl;dr - This post is fucking magical and actually worked for me.

I’m broke as fuck. Money gods pls send me like 100k.

I never reblog these, let’s give it a shot. BIG MONEY, BIG MONEY

Crazy enough but my mom randomly gave me 200 dollars after I reblogged one of these the other day…

Amen

Reblobbed.

I have a theory that these posts actually gather energy from the wishes of people who reblog them and that’s why they work. Plus, yanno, they get passed around by witches…a lot. :)

lux-obscura

Financials are getting a little rocky here (new job was a pay cut and was supposed to be an hours increase but ended up being more of a cut/lateral move) and I’m still trying to figure out how to downgrade my spending (seriously how can I cancel some of my cable services and end up paying MORE than before fucking packages fucking Verizon…) so in the meantime I could really go for a cash infusion until I get myself sorted.

Ok this is such a ridiculous coincidence but I JUST reblogged this this morning and between then and now my tax refund hit my account 3 days early. Draw your own conclusions.
