He eyed his classmate as he brandished what could only be the summer English assignment from his bookbag, noting that it was a lot more chunky than his own. Dan had always been considered an overachiever, but Nathaniel’s paper was at least double the size.
“ Well, that novella of mine has turned into a full-fledged novel, so I doubt I need to say anything more. I suppose I can be a little long-winded at times, but it’s nothing compared to that monstrosity. Don’t tell me you spent the whole break on it. “

He centers the stack of papers into the middle of his desk as he glances back towards the other.
" No of course not, I spent most of the break as a apprentice to a police station in California. Worked with some rather top notch men and women. I asked Mrs. Key for the assignment in advance. Had around two extra weeks. "

Hands reach into his bag as he reaches for the summer assignment, his a twelve paged paper ( which is much more than it had to be ) and a book filled with neat annotations. Organization was a charming character trait no?
“ How has the summer treated you Humphry? Are you still struggling what that novella of yours?”

Dare she rat out a friend? Were they even friends? I mean he sold her drugs, but they weren't exactly close. Nails nervously go to her teeth, which is practically a dead giveaway.

A small smile came across Miley’s lips from a moment as she spoke to the girl.
Down the corridor, seems easy enough. Though Hope wasn't one to turn away being led away or meeting new people.

Fingers tap and tap away at the keyboard, as the azure-haired teen sat in the chair across from him. Brought in and left with the newest transfer to deal with. Something or another about the possesion of drugs, which honestly didn't even come as a surprise --- teenagers and drugs seem to always be together.
" Miss Chloe Price. Seems you've had some police trouble in the past. Though it looks as if those times didn't change your attitude. "
