The view from the dirt road down to Kirby Cove. Always trying to take new and interesting photographs, and thus, trying to keep away from posting images of the bridge at sunrise/set. They are far too common. This felt good and different enough to indulge. The symbolism of the lone boat out there in calm waters is comforting and beautiful.

Last Saturday was one of those days I live for. We roll through our little corner of California with light hearts, good spirits and camaraderie. Thank you friends, for reminding me what cycling means to me, deep down. Thank you for keeping the pace but also for keeping the mood. Still feeling the love. Smiles for days.

Our lives will be defined not by our accomplishments or our merits, but by the footprint we leave on this beautiful landscape. The earth we so often abandon. The journey we often forget to revel in. Adventure lives deep in the soul, and the soul lives on forever.

This is Dave Roth, a diehard rain or shine cyclist from Portland OR. I think about him and the rest of the crew from that day when I think of tough. This is one of my favorite shots from our newest @stravacycling and @stravarun campaign. What are you gonna prove in 2014? 📷: @yonderjournal. #stravaproveit

Mostly posting this for my mother. She likes to watch this channel and I like to keep her entertained. ;) Hi mom! But also thinking about this moment in France w Adam, which was the height of my many awesome summer experiences in 2013. Looking ahead to 2014. What's next? Where do we go? Feeling blessed.

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of Captaining the Strava team in the west coast edition of the Rapha Gentlemen's Race. It was likely the hardest day I've spent on a bike. Over 8hrs in 85 degree high desert heat, climbing 10k+ feet (the first 50miles were climbing, 25 of those on fireroad). We did fair in the standings, many teams DNF, but we mostly had a ton of fun and met other cool folks who are just as crazy as ourselves. This race comes highly recommended. If you ever get an invite, don't pass it up!

It was so crisp and clear this morning at sunrise. Never before seen the Farallons but it was possible today. Not a damn thing in the air. #latergram (at Twin Peaks)

This past weekend Strava sent me to Colorado to help support one of the toughest mountain bike races in the world, the Leadville 100. It was packed with pro riders including Todd Wells and Rebecca Rusch, and it seemed like this little town was all but overrun with cyclist and runners for the weekend. We handed out cokes at around mile 75 and gave the finishers cold wet towels after the race. Strava sent some lottery winners to the race and we did a little documentation of their journey along the way and leading up to the race, so look forward to that on blog.strava.com. It was a great way to end my first week as a Strava Bro.
