dear taylor
@taylorswift there's little to none chance you'll actually see this but i need to get these things out of my system and throughout my life you and your music have been the main things that help me cope and i haven't felt as hopeless and scared as i do now in a really long time.
so i'm bisexual. i live in a country that's becoming more and more homophobic every day and today i'm more upset and miserable about it than usual. usually, because of my accepting friends and the internet i live in a bubble, it's very easy to forget how homophobic people here really are. but today i've been slapped with the truth.
in one of polish cities, bialystok, there was its' first ever pride parade. but besides people wanting to celebrate diversity and love, nationalists also showed up. they were not only shouting truly disgusting things at people participating in pride, but they also threw glass bottles, rocks, food and even firecrackers at them. they set gay flags on fire. three grown up men beat up a teenage girl because she was wearing rainbow things. the police didn't do shit.
i don't live in that city, i live in the capital, warsaw, and pride here went pretty smoothly from what i know and from what i experienced. but this is what lgbtq+ people face here everyday. and no one does anything about it, on the contrary - the government encourages the hatred towards us.
about 30 local goverments have signed anti-lgbt resolutions. one newspaper (which receives subsidies from the government by the way) is about to add "lgbt-free zone" stickers to its next issue. i know a sticker may seem insignificant but it's a symbol of bigger issues going on here. even sadder, from our country's history we should all be aware what "certain-group-free" zones lead to.
i'm just so scared and i don't know what to do. i feel so helpless. and i know the party that's in charge now will get reelected, i just know (i'm obviously gonna vote for what i believe in anyway, but yeah...). i know i'm not alone in all of this but i can't help but feel like i am. and i'm sad and so, so tired.
your music is helping me though. i've been listening to change quite a lot. it gives me a glimpse of hope, even just a little. right now it's really hard to believe that things will get better but i'm holding on to this thought.
thank you for being here. and for your support, now it means more than ever.
i love you.

Taylor Swift’s Reputation Stadium Tour
Here’s to life teaching us lessons, and us learning, growing, dancing and changing together. Everything I’ve learned about a ‘reputation’ and how little it really means when defined by those who do not know you, I’ve learned from the fans whose spirits lit up these stadiums.
Thanks to you, I’m doing better than I ever was. love, Taylor
