Author Sign-ups are Open and Extended!
If you’ve never heard of a round robin before, here are the basics. A group of writers get together to write one story as a collaboration. One author will start the piece and write to a set word limit, and the next author will pick up where the first left off, then the next and so on. By the end of the rotation, we should have a completed, collaborated RoyEd fanfic!

By signing up to do the RoyEd Round Robin, you are agreeing to the following rules/guidelines/disclaimers: - The timeline for the current round robin will be posted before we begin. Authors will be assigned a number, and you will be messaged with your number. The authors will be revealed as they complete their chapter of the story, which allows some anonymity if it turns out you cannot complete the chapter. In that event, we will bring in a pinch hitter to take over your slot.
- Pending the applications, we will select (10) authors and (5) backup pinch hitters. We will do this at random, so that each time we do this, different people have the chance to participate. We may change these numbers based on interest and applicants.
- Each author should write anywhere between 1,500-3,000 words for their section. Everyone’s idea of “chapter length” is different, so we’ve picked a range to try and keep everyone comfortable and not overwhelmed.
- You will have 1-2 weeks to complete your section with one week preferred, but again, we totally understand real life commitments. The idea is to have a 10 week project, with some give or take. We hope you’ll be so excited when your turn comes that the muses will just hand you what you need. ^_^
- We will be archiving all chapters here on the main forum, so when one author submits their section, we will reblog with the update, and then it’s the next author’s turn. We will also have a chapter index on the main post for the current story. Please do not reblog from this blog, use our submit function so we can keep everything in one place.
- You are more than welcome to reblog the main story post to announce when the fic is updated.
- This format may change as we get going and we see how things work.
*Please be aware that the story could be started in either the 2003 series or FMA: Brotherhood series. If you sign up, please be prepared to write for either one.

If you’ve never heard of a round robin before, here are the basics. A group of writers get together to write one story as a collaboration. One author will start the piece and write to a set word limit, and the next author will pick up where the first left off, then the next and so on. The moderators of this community will determine the order before the story begins so that we can keep track and bring in pinch-hitters when necessary. By the end of the rotation, we should have a completed, collaborated RoyEd fanfic.
Sound fun? Want to get involved? Here’s what you need to know:
Must be willing to write for the RoyEd ship. I think if you’re here, you know what that means, but just to make sure…that means a story where Roy Mustang and Edward Elric are romantically involved.
Must be willing to commit to write when it’s your turn. Obviously, we understand that real life happens, but if you sign up, please do it with intention to write your section.
Please be flexible about writing in either the 03 or the FMAB timelines. There may be an AU round robin initiated, but you never know what might come up, and authors should be open to the possibilities.
Everyone must be polite and courteous; typical respectful behavior. We all come from different backgrounds with writing styles and character development. No flaming or bashing will be tolerated.
We don’t require you to have a beta, but we appreciate spell- and grammar-checking your work before you post.
These are just some general rules. During the author sign-ups, we are open to any concerns or thoughts you think should be added to the list. With that being said, we will always leave the askbox open to address your thoughts and questions, so don’t be afraid to give us a shout.
