At least ten of those reviews just say noice

And then there’s this asshole who gave us our only one-star review

hey. BE MORE CONSTRUCTIVE WITh YOUR FEEDBACK!

Because of this post i listened to their podcast and i listened to the daredevil episodes and they are so funny and insightful. Give em a shot. I know ive been recommending podcasts a lot but yeah do it.

Cannot disagree at all with the above sentiment. DEFINITELY worth a listen! NOICE!

Gatewatch Headcanon Asks: The Gatewatch has a house meeting and miraculously, EVERYBODY agreed to take one chore. Which chore does each member sign up for?

Avatar

Love this!

Gideon: Gids gets to mow the grass. It was basically last on the list of chores anyone wanted to do, to the point that the meeting almost disbanded without making any progress. So he stepped up and took one for the team.

Jace: Laundry. Organization, but not like, papers and numbers organization. It’s a good break from that.

Liliana: Taking out the garbage: it’s a simple enough task that a zombie minion can handle it for her, but she doesn’t tell anyone that and instead accepts their gratitude that she’s doing her fair share.

Chandra: Dishes; she can heat the water on her own and enjoys getting it all soapy.

Nissa: Sweeping/dusting. Calming, peaceful, quiet work. Fairly repetitive but not utterly monotonous, she can almost meditate while doing it.

I absolutely love this response!

But I have to admit, I’m surprised that Nissa didn’t volunteer for grass and yard maintenance….

if you asked nissa to tend to the lawn you would wake up to a forest in your front yard

Yeah, I would imagine Nissa might not take kindly to being asked to CUT all that poor innocent grass

I realize this is all humorous, but as someone who STRONGLY identifies with the Green slice of the color pie, I think some people may be overestimating Nissa’s reaction to lawn care.

I mean, cutting grass doesn’t kill the plant. Even considering the lack of nerve endings, it doesn’t even harm the vitality of the plant (like say, carving up the bark of a tree.) I’m no botanist, but I’m pretty sure trimming the grass is the plant equivalent of a haircut. (Though I will confirm this tonight at D&D with my landscaper brother-in-law.)

So, I’m pretty sure her methods would be different than most. (For starters, she would probably ask the lawn what style it prefers.) But pruning and trimming are well within tolerable practices for a plant-loving green mage.

Any other green-aligned planeswalkers out there see it differently?

Arguably, since cutting the grass prevents it from ever producing fruiting bodies and seeds, it is denying the grass of one of the fundamental drives of nature, to reproduce. Therefore it is an extremely unnatural act, and would not be approved by a green mage, I would think?

OK, but here’s the question I keep asking about our new friend Dovin Baan, Emperor of Exasperation…

Where the heck is this guy on the color pie?!

Obviously Blue. I’m pretty sold on UW, maybe UB or UWB. It’s clear that planeswalker colors aren’t always obvious from the characters themselves though so who knows? I can’t really see red since there’s already a UR walker in the set and we’ve had so many red walkers recently.

I think his personality so far (heavy on rules, structure, traditions, etc) puts him firmly in UW

I would also guess WU or Esper, depending on what we learn of him in the future

Fair, we havent seen much of him to judge yet. Im just curious, why do you see him in esper? I dont see much black in him (as of yet)

That “as of yet” is the reason I pitched Black. I don’t have a lot of evidence to back up this theory… yet

I put him as our white planeswalker for the block… Maaaaybe with some black. (or maybe all black?). Blue is at least partially if not fully covered by Saheeli.

Pretty sure this guy is going to have some White

So I’m not the only person who thinks this guy is up to no good?

Aside from the fact that this guy seems shady af to me, which is subjective, I have a deep, deep distrust of the Kaladeshian consulate.

My question is what’s up with that art for him. It’s clearly not cut for a PW card. Did they just crop it, or does he not have a card?

Here’s my prediction:

The art above will be cropped for Dovin’s card.

Then why was it commissioned at that size? Because (I believe) Dovin won’t appear in any booster packs. He will be the planeswalker in one of the new Planeswalker Decks for Kaladesh, and this larger art will be printed on an insert in that deck.

Based on the Planeswalker Deck announcement article, it seems very likely that one of the decks will feature a Chandra card, so having Dovin Baan as the other makes a lot of sense to me.

We know that the default for those decks will be two-color (even if the planeswalker is monocolor) so Dovin being White/Blue would also make sense.

I predict that Chandra’s deck will be Red/Green (even though her card will be monored) and will be all about ramping up and playing fast. In contrast, Dovin’s deck will be White/Blue (and so will his card) and will be all about control and slowing things down.

MaRo has stated (in some Tumblr post that I cannot find) that the Planeswalkers in the Planeswalker Decks will be *alternate versions* of Planeswalkers in the set the Deck is linked to. So if Dovin is one of the two for Kaladesh, he also must appear (on a *different* card) in boosters.

Was driving son to camp. Pulled up at a light behind a Nissan Rogue.

Me: Wouldn’t it be cool if there were also a Cleric, Wizard and Paladin here? We’d have an entire adventuring party ready to go driving down the street.

Son: Can you imagine a car with a big wizard’s hat on it?

Me: “You’re a wizard, Hyundai.”

This is exactly the kind of quality Nerd Dad content I signed up for.

But what if all the adventuring cars were following a Quest?

I think they’d need to get assistance from a Pathfinder if they want to get where they’re going.

A Ranger could probably help with that.

They should Rendezvous with an Explorer.

I once met this adventuring party that was really tight-knit and supportive of each other.

They were all in one Accord.

Okay - seriously had no idea this would happen when I first put this up last August. This is a thing of pure nerdly beauty.

This Thursday, April 7, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm PST (2:00 pm to 4:00 pm EST), if you’re interested in asking the Head Designer of Magic: The Gathering any questions, I’ll be here live to give hopefully educational and entertaining answers. I’ve had a blog on Tumblr (”Blogatog”) for the last four years during which I’ve answered over 64,000 questions. Let’s see if we can get it to 65,000. : )

Hey my fellow nerds!

I know a lot of us are REALLY excited for Maro’s live Question Time today, but let’s all try to remember that there will be a LOT of people asking questions who are new to Magic or don’t play at all. Let’s try and help them have a positive experience.

I mean, Mark is “the face of Magic,” but so are we! Today may be some people’s first or only glimpse at the MtG community. So let’s think a moment before criticizing questions or comments. Let’s focus on sharing and including, rather than correcting or scoffing.

And if you feel frustrated that Maro is answering too many “dumb” questions and ignoring your “brilliant” questions, please resist the urge to take out that frustration on the people asking the questions. They’re doing their best, and he’s still gonna be around every day for us.

So let’s have fun. And let’s show the rest of Tumblr the way we express our passion for Magic is by inviting everyone to come enjoy it with us.

Some of you may have seen a link to a new Mark Rosewater article titled “Announcing rules change: mana pool and mana burn.” This article is a fake.
