Cass let out a small laugh. “But will I want to hear all of them?” Thomas didn’t seem like the kind of man to only have a few things to tell her. It actually made her wonder what he had to say to her that she didn’t already know.
“But it’s easier to act like I’m not hurt. It’s easier to blow it off instead of focusing on the fact that if you were allowed to have something with her you wouldn’t be here.” She shrugged. Cass didn’t like talking about her insecurities to Thomas because part of her felt like it didn’t matter much to him. “But you killed someone that treated you like family. That acted like you were one of them, why would they do that if you had a long history?”
“Well if you act like it doesn’t hurt, then we aren’t gonna solve anything there.” He stated quietly. “That’s not even an option, I’ll never be with her. And that doesn’t, be I moved on.” Thomas said back towards her. “The history wasn’t a good one. There ancestors killed my son and my wife, they killed my entire family. They were witches, I wasn’t but I grew up around it. But, yeah...I should have never gone near here is the moral of the story, okay?”
