2019 found me welcoming guide dog in training #6, Lilac, in June. She was...so small. She’s currently 8 months old and already larger than Dorothy.
The first dog I raised, Amelia, passed away unexpectedly after a very sudden illness on December 7, 2019.
It seems appropriate to share that on this platform I rarely touch anymore. Because this is where we started. Where I started sharing this journey I was on with puppy raising.
Amelia lived a short life (she was 7) but she lived a full life. I do not doubt for one second that this dog was so loved, so happy, and so satisfied with her life. I know she lived an amazing life. I miss her more than words can express but I am so happy to have been put in her life even if just as a waystation to her larger purpose.
Love you forever, Wookiee

8 dogs, 6.5 miles! Little Manatee River State Park
Noodle blew my mind today with how well she did around 5 new dogs, lots of people and other passing dogs on the trail. She only got upset once when a guy let his boxer shove it’s face up in Noodle’s. Guys just absolutely so insanely proud of her.
NOODLE DOG WAS SO GOOD

Hey folk, I’m doing some research on accessibility in zoos in the United States after my own experiences this summer, and I’d love to hear reader experiences / anecdotes.
I’m looking for anything related to ADA compliance / disability accommodation at zoos and aquariums, both positive experiences and issues or questions you’ve run into. I’d love it if you’re willing to share stories publicly (in a reblog or reply, or ask an ask I can publish) but given the sensitivity of the topic I’m happy to not publish messages or keep them anonymous.
Thanks in advance!
anyways here’s a picture of my useless dog
We got to meet my favorite Atlanta photographer a little while ago so of course Dorothy had to model her book
