The last week in December was a very important week, known as “Big Week NYC”. For the entire week, the clubs Pacha and RPM hosted parties between Pier 94, Pier 36 and their clubs in New York City. On December 29th, fans were in store for a treat when the king of trance, Armin Van Buuren, came to NYC with other huge Armada artists such as Andrew Rayel, Mark Sixma and Jochen Miller.
As the doors to Pier 94 opened at 9 p.m, Mark Sixma kicked off the night by getting the crowd riled up with many of his tracks including "Rise up" with Kill the Buzz and many of his remixes, which also included his incredible remix of Tiesto's "Adagio For Strings". To top it all off, Sixma had also dropped other amazing remixes to iconic tracks such as Darude's "Sandstorm" and Kernkraft 400's "Zombie Nation". Immediately following Mark, Jochen Miller took the stage and continued setting the mood for the night.
As midnight approached, Jochen's set had ended as the crowd chanted "Armin! Armin!", which echoed throughout Pier 94. Armin Van Buuren started off his set with "Together (In A State Of Trance)" the theme song to A State Of Trance 700. Throughout his set we heard other amazing tracks such as his remix of Disney's "Let It Go" from the film Frozen, "Ping Pong" and the Grammy hit "This Is What it Feels Like".
With an amazing light show, balloons and confetti, Armin had performed an amazing set leading up to Andrew Rayel closing out the show. With many tracks from his latest album "Find Your Harmony", Rayel kept the crowd moving. It's safe to say that New York had experienced A State Of Trance like no other.
