Hello, I contributed to Barkira vol.1 and wanted to know how I go about having my pages included on the tumblr. Thanks

For sure man, I'm not updating the Tumblr as much because I did most of that on a really slow month where I had a lot of time to dedicate to it. I'm hella busy right now, but if anyone wants their Bartkira stuff, shoot me an ask with a link and I'll get it up on the Bartkira Tumblr!

Alright, so here are my Bartkira pages! I’d like to pay out some thanks because, without a lot of people, these pages couldn’t have happened!

Thank you to Ryan Humphrey for posting the original Bartkira pages online and sparking this whole project. You’ve brought a lot of artists together to make something really cool and enjoyable!

Thank you to James Harvey, who suggested the collaboration and organized the whole thing. I can’t even imagine how difficult it was to divide the pages among the artists and even now, my thoughts are with you as you compile all the pages into a single torrent. Thank you for doing the jobs that would discourage anyone else.

Thank you to Peter SchmiDt, who totally changed the way I do comics in a single tumblr post. If my art isn’t in your taste, Peter, I hope you can at least enjoy my panel layout, which I tried to make as identical to the originals as possible!

Thank you to Marie Tary, whose radial speed line brush I used on the first panel of my third page. That type of speed line was intimidating to use traditionally and Marie’s digital brushes offered a safe alternative. Marie’s download offered a variety of speed line brushes, and if you’d like to try them out for yourself, you can do so here!

So there you have it! What I’ve been working on this month! I’m going to go chill out now, but if you’d like to see more Bartkira, you can go visit the Bartkira tumblr here!

My finished Bartkira pages! Due to a mix-up with the spreadsheet, my pages ended up being double booked. After the initial panic and confusion, this turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as the backgrounds on page 347 took waaaay more work than I expected and having a couple more pages to do afterwards probably would’ve killed me!.  The whole experience was a great deal of fun though and it has really rekindled my love of comic drawing.

Here are my pages done for the Bartkira project. It was a ton of fun and trying to find the balance between Otomo and Groening is a challenge. My level of respect for both these creators has jumped ten fold after doing this. Overall, I’d give myself a B grade. Being a couple days late really sucks but i’m happy to have finished it. ENJOY!

Thanks to James Harvey for putting this awesome project together and giving me the opportunity to participate!  - ( and for doing all the work compiling all of these files haha should be fun!)

also you check out more of my work here and here.

I almost didn’t finish coloring my pages in time, but I pulled an all nighter the night before then slept for a couple of hours, went to work and finished up most of the editing and speech balloons & text etc, where I also found out It was my last day of work because the company is going bankrupt, so looking for work again, but I’m glad I could get this done for the deadline, great way to spend my last day in the office haha.   The editing and text balloon process was all a lot more complicated than I thought it would be.. I’m pretty much learning as I go along so there’s probably an easier way..  I did the colours in photoshop, made the balloons in illustrator exported as eps. then did the typesetting with indesign  - except it was a hassle to get it right too some trial and error.   (I think I have to learn Manga Studio soon)   All in all I’m pretty happy how they turned out though!
