The metallic hound stalked closer, with intent to pounce and tear the child into shreds. A low growl hummed within the chambers of his throat, clicking gears that flinched his left eye and fled the blood from his face as luminous claws glinted between jagged shadows.

Hope swallowed shallowly: teetering dangerously, having his shoes tangled with each other as he took steps back, looking about wildly. A train of uncertainty gnawed his chest. How many Were there? One—no something—three?

Yes, yes he can. He’s not quite sure why, but he wants to.

The silver-haired boy’s panicking, stuttering, and he has to focus a bit to catch the meaning of his words. His group, huh? Is he a tourist? Didn’t quite pick the best part of the world. Better get him to join the others before he gets mugged.

"Alright, let’s get you to your group then," he’s hoping this might get him to calm down a bit. As for actually finding those folks…he hasn’t thought that far ahead. Well, looks like he’s going to be winging it, as always. "Where did you see them last?"

Hope snapped his head up faster than could comprehend. "I..uh."

The stranger would help him and it washed over a sense a relief, bringing about a light in his eyes until the crashing reality pounded on shoulders like bricks. The boy did not know where his friends were. The last he saw was their figures crumbling into pixels in this milky hue he found his memory in. Panic suddenly struck their eyes when Sazh was suddenly lurched away and little by little, each one disappeared. Snatched from space.

  • Hope: Strategy. Good. I’ll take anything to help me get through this. I’ll call it ‘Operation Nora.’
  • Lightning: NORA?
  • Hope: My mother’s name.
  • Lightning: Your revenge?

♔—} Fear; It was a normal response to that which could harm, and a defensive mechanism. He knew all too well what this emotion was and for that he understood well what this child was feeling. “The only way to conquer your fear, is to face it head on.” The king took steps forward, head arched down in such a way to show the child there was nothing to fear. “I mean you no harm child.”

Hope seized his Airwing, poising it for attack. "I-I said..you can talk-No! I said stay back.." His words struggling to stay stern, firm. The beast's kindness was something that astounded him, and had him reconsidering his actions.

Surprise took Hope and he looked toward Chris wide eyed. “A-alright. I will.” A speck of optimism swell in the boy. “I mean..yes sir.”

"Good. You know how to use a gun right?" he took out his pistol from his holster, handing it over to Hope "Cause I get the feeling we’re gonna be running into a few fights before we get to where we need to go."

"F-fights?"

Hope looked at the gun, feeling his hand begin to quiver. The purge returned to him in flashes and so did his sudden blister and boil of his blood. Snow’s image surged and the boy curled his fist, taking the gun from Chris holding it at his side. ‘I can do this.’

"Pick your targets, also don’t shoot me by accident." he warned before taking point down one of the war-torn tunnels

"Targets..? Hope realized the man was already on the move and he quickly scrambled to follow, holding the gun close. "What are we facing, sir?

"She—"

What was Lightning? A sister figure? Had she taken role of his mother now that his fell to the death—The boy cringed moving away from this memory.

He doesn’t know what to say and he had a dreadful feeling she wasn’t looking for him like he was for her.

"She is..my guardian."

Chris almost hesitated for a second before he shook his head “Alright, I’ll look for her, if you’re coming along you stay close by me and follow what I say, alright Hope?”

"I don’t.."

Hope glanced around. He suppose he could follow him, he seemed harmless enough, but where would he go? He did not where to go. Suddenly the boy became conflicted. “I—I am sorry..I don’t—”

"You don’t what?"

The question hung heavy for only a second or two before the thought occurred to him. It was something familiar, unexpectedly facing him again. Oh."You don’t know where to go, do you?"

"I don't, but maybe..you can help me.."

Hope quickly became at loss for words. Loosing confidence in his train of thought. "I-I-" Should he disclose this? "-got separated from my group. I don't know where they are."

Could he even help him? This was useless..
