What Have I to Fear?

@benevolent-god-loki / benevolent-god-loki.tumblr.com

I am Loki Laufeyson: undeniable ruler of the nine realms. I am the monster parents tell their children about at night. I am your nightmares and everything you fear. I cannot be contained; I cannot be stopped. So tell me, what have I to fear?

“Why?” Loki asked softly. “I’m tired of us fighting so often. I want things to get better -- like how they were when we first were married.”

He felt the effects of the poison making him slowly lose consciousness. Loki attempted to fight it. He barely was able to keep his eyes open.

“A Midgardian poison won’t kill me. You know that, yes?” Loki asked, drowsily.

“Who said I was out to kill you?” She asked, moving to his side to loop an arm around his waist and haul him to his feet. One too many she mouthed at the curious people around them, and started leading him outside.

“I’m not a fan of killing”, she continued conversationally. “And I’m not about to start with you. So stress less, you’re gonna be very much alive at the end of this.”

“Then -- then what do you plan on doing to me?” Loki asked in garbled speech. His steps were haphazard; he did look as though he was entirely drunk. He admired the brilliance of Darcy’s plan but also scorned her for the poison. How dare a Midgardian outsmart a trickster such as Loki.

With his mind clouded, Loki went wherever Darcy led him. He didn’t have enough control over his body to free himself or stop her. He was at her mercy, and Loki despised that.

Her lack of an answer led Loki to believe that he was correct. Felicity did love Oliver, and that made this even better for him. But she still refused to come with him, and he so desperately needed to leave before anyone suspected that something had happened to Felicity.

“Now, now, you do not even know why it is that I require you. I intended to be kind, but you tried to run away. If you come with me, I will treat your wrist. You may contact your Oliver. I need information about a single thing. Something that I do believe is still in the Green Arrow’s possession – a super virus.”

Felicity stopped struggling at the mention of the super virus, probably the same super virus Ra’s tried to use on Starling City last year, she didn’t even know if Oliver still had it, and she wondered how this man know that Oliver is the Green Arrow, “I don’t know why you think I have anything to do with the Green Arrow,” Felicity tried though she knew it was a useless attempt, “And I clearly don’t know anything about super virus. You’re wasting your time.”

Felicity wished she could grab the metal rod, but it was too far away, maybe she should just come with him and figure out the rest there, maybe she could even send a message to Oliver.

A rush of rage surged through Loki. He tightened his grip on Felicity’s wrist and threw the metal rod against the wall. She was lying to him, and Loki was beyond aware of that. After a moment, he realized that he was bruising her wrist a deep purple. He loosened his grip -- barely -- and took a breath.

“Miss Smoak, I know when people are lying to me,” Loki growled. “I know that the virus was in this city not too long ago. What do you know about it? Do not lie to me again. If you do, I will know, and I will go after your love and demand answers from him. Do you understand me?”

“You never need to ask, my love,” Loki said with a smile. He leant down and gave Calista a kiss, wrapping his arms around her waist.

Loki kept his grip on Felicity’s wrist. He refused to give her any chance to escape. He needed her so he could attract the Green Arrow’s attention. Of course, Loki had not counted on Queen’s friend to act quite as strongly as she did. He expected fear – incapacitating fear.

He noticed a look in Felicity’s eyes – a look that Loki had not seen very often throughout his life. That is when the thought came to Loki. “Oh. You and Queen are more than allies,” he stated with a smirk.

The grip was hurting her wrist even more and the more she pulled away the more it hurt, the more she was screaming because of the pain until she realized maybe it was a waste of time, she needed to think of some other way to escape, to run. “You won’t get anything from me, whatever you want me for…” she spat.

His question struck a cord inside her, how could he know? Fear started clouding her mind and heart, she can not let this man use this to harm Oliver, she wouldn’t let him. She didn’t answer, instead she looked around to find something to help her escape.

Her lack of an answer led Loki to believe that he was correct. Felicity did love Oliver, and that made this even better for him. But she still refused to come with him, and he so desperately needed to leave before anyone suspected that something had happened to Felicity.

The kick to his shin was entirely unexpected. Loki had – wrongly – assumed that Felicity would be an easy target. He would have been better off trying to kidnap Queen’s sister, Thea.

Loki sped after Felicity and caught up with her fairly easily. He grabbed the metal rod and yanked it out of Felicity’s hand. With another quick movement, he grabbed her left wrist and twisted it until it made an audible crack. “Now, are you really going to keep making this difficult? I’ll let you call him soon. All you have to do is come with me.”

Image

Felicity kept running until he caught her and easily over powered her before twisting her wrist like snapping a twig. Her scream echoed, the pain was excruciating, she wondered how her friends could endure this night after night, “Let. Me. Go!” she screamed as she struggled all she could even though she felt like her hand is about to fell off.

She can’t let him catch her, she just can’t because she knew if this man learns the true relationship she has with Oliver then he’ll use her to get to Oliver and even made him do things to saved her and she didn’t want that, she didn’t want to be the reason for Oliver’s guilt.

Loki took a drink of the ale that Darcy had handed to him. Like any other Midgardian alcohol, it was not strong by any means.

“Now, do you care to tell me why you’re in a bar, flirting with a man who has killed so many? I do not believe that I am the best of company.”

“Flirting’s such a strong word”, she replied, smiling again. Only this time there was an edge to it. “Poisoning, now that is a good word for this situation, yeah.” Her eyes dropped to the glass in his hand and came back up before she gave a short shrug. “Like you said, guy like you who’s killed so much.”

He felt the effects of the poison making him slowly lose consciousness. Loki attempted to fight it. He barely was able to keep his eyes open.

“Please tell me you are joking.”

“Why would you assume that I am joking?” Loki asked, furrowing his brow in a genuine look of confusion. “Do you not wish to see Asgard? Or is it that you doubt its existence?”

River song looked equally confused “I am aware that it exists, I have yet to be there so of course I want to see it. I just wasn’t expecting the question.”

“Well, Lady Song, shall we go then?” he asked, glancing over his shoulder at the Bifrost which had already opened on whichever world they were currently on.

“Ooh, lady song, I like that” she smiled and took his arm “we shall!”

He rolled his eyes when she grabbed his arm but led her toward the Bifrost nonetheless. In an instant, they were in the Asgardian observatory, and the Bifrost closed behind them.

“Welcome to Asgard,” Loki said with a smile. “What do you think?”

Loki made a quiet tsk tsk noise under his breath as he shook his head. “Are the villains that you face so stupid as to tell you all of the information that you desire? The quarrel is between Mr. Queen and me; you are merely a pawn in this game.”

He grabbed her wrists, tightly, and tugged her toward him. “Now, we are leaving. I will not hurt you so long as you do not struggle. But, if you do – I will break your wrist. Do you understand?”

Felicity pulled her hand as he tugged her, struggling to escape him, “I’m not going anywhere with you!” she even tried to kick him on his shin with her very pointy heels, that’ll sting for a while at least and it was enough distraction for her to escape from his grasp. Years working with the Arrow and being captured one too many times sure taught her at least something.

Felicity starting to run away from him, as fast as her heels allowed her to of course, she picked a metal rod as she she kept running without looking back, knowing he won’t be far away from her, but at least with a distance she might be able to contact Oliver if she’s lucky.

“Hi, can I buy you a drink?”

“Are you truly so naive that you do not recognize me, or do you simply not care?”

“Gonna go with the not caring. Now drink up.”

Felicity cringed when the tall, pale man spoke, something about his voice gave shudder to the back of her hair, like he was so evil, and what he know about her name and about Oliver, he sure isn’t just any other man.

She observed his appearances, his clothing wasn’t from this era, that was clear, is he another member of League of Assassin? He looked somehow like Ra’s Al Ghul. Could he be? And now with all the magic they’re facing, could he be one of them?

Felicity stood tall, won’t let him win by showing that she was afraid, “What quarrel do you have with Oliver?” she asked, her voice shook a little, but she quickly hide it.

An Asgardian Autumn

( ⊱ nari ! )

Nari stood, holding his book to his chest as a source of comfort. An icy cold chill rushed through his body when the woman called him by his formal title; he much preferred to go unrecognized by the Asgardians in the marketplace. That was a hopeless endeavor. Nari realized that now, and that realization brought a rush of anxiety. If she had recognized him, who else also had?
In an attempt to push aside his worries, Nari blinked and took a breath. Loosening his grip on his book, he softened his expression once again. “I’d prefer you do not call me that, if you do not mind.”

Her eyes focused on the ground, memorizing the stone and dirt that moved with each step made by someone passing by. Nervous was an understatement – she was talking to a prince afterall. And given her conversation experience consisted mainly of that with boys her own age, which was as informal as it could get

When she heard his voice again, her gaze raise back up to him. “Oh – of course I don’t mind. I’m sorry…” Don’t make yourself look like an idiot, Brayden

He felt more anxious than usual. This conversation was not going well by any means. “Ah -- it’s perfectly all right. Do you mind -- uh -- continuing this conversation elsewhere?” Nari asked, desperately.

Frost began to cling to the outer cover of his book and across his chest. He fidgeted, clenching and unclenching his hands around the book. People were watching; Nari wanted them all to leave him alone.

Throughout the past few years, Loki had learned many things, but how to deal with pesky SHIELD agents was something that still stumped him. So, of course, when he came across this young woman while he was traveling through Midgard, his first thought was to imprison her. Killing agents only brought more attention to himself; Loki had realized that quickly. But agents went missing all of the time; no one would suspect it was him who kidnapped this young agent.
Now that they were in Asgard, though, Loki regretted his decision to take this Midgardian hostage. It only made things more complicated. When he heard the woman wake in her cell, Loki hardened his expression and then walked into the room.
“Now, tell me, my dear, why should I let you out?”

Alaina’s blood froze at the sight of the god in front of her. She remembered all her training and the one thing it all agreed on was ‘stay away from the god or else’. Was this the or else, she asked herself as she tried to keep her body language calm. It was near impossible though, she knew little of what he was capable of and what she did know was not that inspiring. He could kill her just with the wave of her hand, she had heard, but then again, if he could, why didn’t he?

Frowning, Alain lifted her head, “Because I am a federal agent and this is kidnapping.” She looked him straight in the eye before looking away to stare at a wall, “Keeping me is in violation of several laws.”

Not that he probably cared, she thought, he did kidnap her in the first place. She had no leverage in the conversation and she knew that. Still, she had to remain steadfast in her strength until she could figure out where she was and how she could escape. Or until someone realised she went missing and hopefully sent out someone to look for her. Not that that was really likely given the ratio of missing agents to not so missing agents. Still, she had to hope.

Loki chuckled at the young agent’s rationalization as to why he should release her. Midgardian laws did not affect him; if they did, he was certain that he would have been imprisoned after the incident in New York all of those years ago. Instead, he was brought back to Asgard, to face Asgardian laws, and not even those held him responsible for much. He was able to get free and claim the throne in the process.

With the slightest smirk, Loki clasped his hands together behind his back and stepped around the agent, much like a predator circles its prey. “My dear, I already know you to be a federal agent. SHIELD is not talented in the ways of concealing identities. All of you flaunt your crest on your cloaks and badges. It makes it quite simple to recognize you,” Loki explained in an amused tone. “I do not think that you realize how deserted you are. SHIELD will not come for you. Your only options are to have a pleasant or an extremely unpleasant conversation with me about a particular item that I know SHIELD has in its possession. Which do you choose, Alain?”
