I’ve always called Nexus just ya know, Nexus

but one of the other names given in the comics for them is Om-Point and I cannot get over how cute the name Om would be

COSMIC BOY

because I love Alex Summers and I’m still mad the movies never fully explored the depth of his cosmic powers and his multiverse connections

So guess who finally watched Logan? Yeah ME. And I’m going to do some talking.

The only confirmed genetic templates are: Wolverine, Bolt and Avalanche. The rest are only speculation, like Viper or Anole being Gideon’s template, Jean being Joey’s and Iceman being Delilah’s.

BUT LISTEN

There’s a character called Tomás, who we see emit a wave-like force from his hands that causes a Reaver mercenary to burst into flames. On his xmenmovies.wikia page possible templates are put as Pyro or Sunspot. But they also note that this might not be the case as there are things that don’t match up, like how Pyro and Sunspot couldn’t produce fire alone or out of his solar form. There’s a lot that doesn’t match up basically.

But!! You know who does match up, pretty damn well actually??

My boy Alex / Havok.

Now let me explain, because I know what your thinking: didn’t Alex die in ‘83? Wasn’t he incinerated? (No. But for the sake of this argument I’m going to acknowledge that terrible plot hole…).

Yes, but before that if people remember back to Days of Future Past, Alex along with a whole squadron of Mutants had blood taken from them by none other than Bolivar Trask.

Trask Industries as we know is pretty much proto-Alkali Lake, where Wolverine got his adamantium, and Alkali Lake is the parent organisation of *drum roll* Alkali-Transigen. So we know for a FACT that Alex’s DNA is in the hands of evil experimenting organisations.

Even though it has been decades since Alex died, by the time of Logan based in 2025, it’s also been decades since Christoper / Bolt died. They could easily have had Mutant DNA stored for all that time. Also, given that four different children from the X-23 project all have the same ability, implying they have the same template, Transigen were possibly short on Mutant DNA samples to work with so the DNA of Mutants like Bolt and Havok secretly (and probably illegally) archived from decades ago would be a gold mine for them.

My last point also is the powers Tomás has. Looking at how Tomás’ abilities present themselves is fascinating, because they don’t look like either Pyro’s or Sunspot’s. When Tomás uses his abilities he doesn’t emit fire, instead he projects a kind of silvery continuous concentric wave from his hands and the man he is aiming at bursts into flames. This suggests to me that Tomás’ abilities aren’t pyrokinesis, he’s not creating fire exclusively or manipulating it, but actually some kind of super heated force that causes the man’s flammable clothes and hair to combust.

Who does that sound like? Oh yeah. It sounds exactly like Alex, just without the flashing red light (which Alex doesn’t originally have in the comics, Havok’s abilities are actually silvery blue, similar to how Bolt in the comics is able to actually manipulate electricity like X-23 child Bobby does in Logan, unlike is Origins counterpart who just manipulates technology). The man Tomás targets explodes into flames not unlike the statue and mannequins Alex destroys in First Class.

In conclusion, I’d say there’s far more evidence to suggest Alex Summers / Havok is Tomás’ genetic template/biological father than Pyro or Sunspot.
