Regions of Westeros: the Riverlands

Stretching from the Neck to the banks of the Blackwater, and east to the borders of the Vale, the riverlands are the beating heart of Westeros. No other land in the Seven Kingdoms has seen so many battles, nor so many petty kings and royal houses rising and falling. The causes of this are clear. Rich and fertile, the riverlands border on every other realm in the Seven Kingdoms save Dorne, yet have few natural boundaries to deter invasion. The waters of the Trident make the lands ripe for settlement, farming, and conquest, whilst the river's three branches stimulate trade and travel during peacetime, and serve as both roads and barriers in times of war.

Hey all. LOML, Maisie, needs teeth pulled urgently. The vet bill is $1575 and due within the next few weeks. The surgeon is also a 90 min drive away, so I will need help with gas costs and parking fees. Any help would be appreciated, including sharing the link.

Update:

Maisie is still reluctant to eat but I'm experimenting with making her pate into a mousse to see if that will entice her. She's drinking plenty of water but seems somewhat low on energy.

I have some tentatively good news, which is that in theory her pet insurance will reimburse me for some of the surgery costs, but it remains to be seen exactly how much. Unfortunately, I still have to pay the bill in order to submit it to her insurance afterwards, so fundraising continues. Please follow the link above to donate, and/or share this post!

happy opening day to old people who keep score in the stands, field pigeons who harrass outfielders during play, snack shack workers, ticket takers, lesbians on game day dates, girls who play on Little League teams, cotton candy hawkers, whoever repairs and replaces the lightbulbs in stadium lights, radio board operators, shitty bisexual stadium DJs, non-American players, transgender fans of all kinds, field maintenance workers who trip pulling the tarp up, abysmal first pitch throwers, Renel Brooks-Moon, people who take the bus, train, or ferry to games, my boyfriend, first time fans, lifelong fans, diva pitchers, diva shortstops, guys who sell hotdogs and merch on the sidewalk after games, minor leaguers, college softball players who are better than all baseball players but never get paid for their contributions to the sport, seagulls who shit on people and then take their french fries, umpires who get silly with it calling strikes, camera operators, stadium janitors, and you.

I will make a more detailed post in a bit but the organization Anera has announced they have resumed aid delivery to north Gaza. Please consider donating to them, they have worked on the ground in Gaza for decades and they provide emergency aid as well as have many wonderful long-term programs.

Either people need to learn how to tell the difference between an “I’m sorry” that takes direct responsibility and an “I’m sorry” that signifies sympathy, or I’m gonna start responding to unfortunate information with a solemn nod and a “Sympies,” because I am tired of receiving a “Why? It wasn’t your fault” every time I try to vocalize compassion.
