The grin on Saph’s face lit up her eyes. “Elijah.” She was so happy to see him. She walked towards him. “I hope you don’t mind I’m here…you did offer me an invitation.” She walked to him,embracing him in a hug. “I missed you.”

He hugged her back tightly. “Not at all. I am happy to see you, Ms. Sapphire. ” He smiled as he offered her his hand. “Shall we? Anything you want to see first?”

“Saph.” She let go of the hug looking at him. “We’re there. You can call me Saph. “ She smiled,taking his hand. “I actually don’t know..I came straight from the airport. I just..I remembered your offer and it was the first place I thought of. “

He chuckled. “Perhaps but I prefer Sapphire.” He smiled as e led her to the Quarter. “Welcome to New Orleans. ”

Saph gave a low whistle as she looked around. “It’s a beautiful city. “ She stopped and looked at the jazz musicians playing. “I should mention I love jazz music.”

“Now why would she want to do such a thing at such a wonder party?” There was sarasm his tone. These things were never his thing, but it did serve as a good time to spy. “Damon Salvatore.” He offer her his hand. “You are?”

His humor amused her. She laughed softly at it. “Perhaps because she was here under false pretenses from this bloody mayor.” Saph felt such displeasure she was known for her father’s acts and not her own. She looked at his hand and tensed slightly but relaxed in her smiled,putting her hand in his. “Sapphire. Sapphire De’Noire. Haven’t you heard? The newest benefactor’s daughter.”

“Sapphire!” He could still hear her heart beat. “Good. She just fainted.” What was the cause though? He picked her up and with his vampire speed took her onto the bedroom behind them. It was Elijah’s room. He laid her on the bed.

The moment she laid down,Saph came to,gasping. “No he has to leave.” She gasped,looking to Elijah. “I fainted didn’t I?”

He nodded. “Who has to leave? Sapphire? I swear I will protect you.” He knew something was seriously wrong. “Talk to me. ”

“I saw your mother talking to someone outside.” She looked at him. “That was my brother. He and my father two years ago tried to burn me alive to a counsel of witch hunters. I think your mother called him here.”

“Lets hope so. “ He smiled as the music finished. He stepped away and bowed. “Have a  night, Miss De’Noire.” He kissed his hand before excusing himself to the study. He needed to shake her from his mind or he would be distracted.

“Then I will. It’s good to have company even if just for a little while.” He offered his jacket to her by placing it over her shoulders. “Its a chilly night. You don’t want to catch a cold.”

“Oh.” Saph gasped in surprise as she put her hands on his jacket over her shoulders. “Thank you. I’m fine really. The cold never bothered me anyway…” She shut her eyes. “That sounded so silly I am so sorry you had to hear that.”

“I think that was lyrics to a popularizing.” He teased her. “Its alright. I’m a vampire. I don’t get cold.” He looked out at the streets below them. “You should stay with us. That is if you do not have a place in mind.”

Saph smiled and just held onto his jacket,it did keep her a little warm. “Oh I…” She paused. Her home just only burnt down recently and had been staying in the Salvatore boarding house as Damon owed her a few favors. “I wouldn’t want to impose. Beside I think your mother would hate it if I stayed. I don’t blame her. I’m used to being hated by parental figures. My own father tried to burn me alive.”

“Don’t worry about my mother. She even hates her own children.” He smiled. He wanted to get ro know her. “Have you ever seen New Orlean”

She shook her head. “I can’t say I have. I have only lived in London and well,here. Mystic Falls has been my home for a few years. I had been living quietly until the witches here decided to attack me.” Saph bit her lip and looked down then to him. “Why do you ask?”

“Well of you ever find yourself down there look me up. My family and I are thinking about are thinking about returning to our home there. That is once Niklaus succeeds here.”

Saph smiled and laughed. “ Why Elijah Mikaelson,are you asking me out?” She asked with a coy smile on her face. She then paused. “You’re very much for your family aren’t you? I envy you. Your family stays so close. “

“We have our differences, but we made a vow to one another a long time ago.” He smiled. “Perhaps I am. I would just like the oppurtunity to show you a better time than this party.”

Saph made her wonder what that was like. To have your family stick to one vow when her brother barely kept his own promises. She smiled and said,”But I am having a good time at this party...you’ve kept me company you danced with me..it’s..it’s really a lot better than I expected my night to go. “
