“Why, is that a problem?”
Elijah looked down at his unfinished work, placing his digits to his temple before his eyes settled on his wife’s. She was looking forward to their vacation but he just couldn’t deny her. So he obviously had to say yes to her, but what if a compromise came into place.
“Jules.” He hesitated a bit before finally breaking it to her.
“Fine, are all the bags packed and ready? Especially the kids?”
It was an all too familiar sight — his focus entirely absorbed upon his work, leaving little to spare for her. She wants to be patient, but in fairness, they had been planning this trip for months now. It was hardly some surprise she was springing on him.
“Of course – everything, and everyone, is ready. Excluding you, of course. The kids are in the car, I had the luggage sent ahead — it’s all taken care of. But our itinerary is going to be thrown off if we don’t leave in the next hour.“
Elijah smiled up at his wife before getting up from his desk, out from his study with Juliette behind him. He went downstairs, grabbed everything that he needed and called out to the brunette.
“Jules, don’t forget the snacks and blood bags for the road. You know how I get when I don’t have my daily ration of blood.”
