This is a real life, alive Giant Squid found off the coast of Japan. This video was recorded on December 24th, 2015.
This Giant Squid is 3.7 metres long (12 feet), but specimens have been found that are more than 12 metres long.

At the time, Boyega’s talent agency, CAA, also represented “Iron Man” star Robert Downey Jr., who is no stranger to this sort of fame. So he sent an email to Downey’s agent saying, essentially, “Hi, I’m John. I’m going to be in ‘Star Wars.’ If he has time, can Robert Downey Jr. mentor me?”
He wasn’t exactly sure that it would result in anything, but figured it was worth a shot. Later, Boyega remembers he was driving in London when he got a call from an unknown number.
“Who’s this?” Boyega demanded.
“It’s Robert,” the voice said.
“Robert who, man?”
“Uh, Robert, Downey Jr.”
“I’m like, oh crap! Iron Man!” Boyega recalled. “I had better park up.”
They talked for two hours that day. It was the start of a true friendship that’s since resulted in more hours-long chats, hang-outs, and even a chicken and waffles date.
“Good lord we get deep,” Boyega said of their conversations. “For the most part it’s definitely private, but in general, his thing has always been inner peace and how to deal with this on a mental level. Taking care of your mental health is something that he talks to me about.”
“He’s really changed my life with his advice.”

7 Facts That Will Make You Feel Very Small
Earth, our home planet, is the fifth largest planet in our solar system and the only planet we know of where life exists. Even though Earth seems extremely large to us, it is actually a tiny spec in the vast expanse of the universe. Here are 7 space facts that will make you feel very small.
1. Our sun is one of at least 100 BILLION stars, just in the Milky Way. Scientists calculate that there are at least 100 billion galaxies in the observable universe, each one brimming with stars. There are more stars than grains of sand on all of Earth’s beaches combined.
In 1995, the first planet beyond our solar system was discovered. Now, thousands of planets orbiting sun-like stars have been discovered, also known as exoplanets.
2. The Milky Way is a huge city of stars, so big that even at the speed of light (which is fast!), it would take 100,000 years to travel across it.
3. Roughly 70% of the universe is made of dark energy. Dark matter makes up about 25%. The rest — everything on Earth, everything ever observed with all of our instruments, all normal matter adds up to less than 5% of the universe.
4. If the sun were as tall as a typical front door, Earth would be the size of a nickel.
5. The sun accounts for almost all of the mass in our solar system. Leaving .2% for all the planets and everything else.
6. Edwin Hubble discovered that the Universe is expanding and that at one point in time (14 billion years ago) the universe was all collected in just one point of space.
7. Four American spacecraft are headed out of our solar system to what scientists call interstellar space. Voyager 1 is the farthest out — more than 11 billion miles from our sun. It was the first manmade object to leave our solar system. Voyager 2, is speeding along at more than 39,000 mph, but will still take more than 296,000 years to pass Sirius, the brightest star in our night sky.

It’s okay. Really.
Well I’m a few days into a new fandom, I’ve been browsing through the tags, and I’ve got something to say.
Not because I enjoy the sound of my own voice, but because I’m seeing a lot of young people, many of whom seem new(ish) to fandom, and who maybe haven’t heard someone say this yet:
You can like whatever character you want. Which character you crush on or identify with doesn’t say anything about you - or rather, it does, but we would have to know you to know what exactly it says about you. No stranger on the internet can infer anything about you based on which characters you like.
You can also ship that character with whomever you like, and that too does not say anything about you, except - see above.
You can read and write about terrible things, and it doesn’t mean you are endorsing those terrible things in real life.
