The irony in that we were taught to never use Wikipedia for correct or factual information and instead should be used as a tool or starting point for research.

But now that every Google search is filled with ai trash and paid advertisements, and not for results you're actually searching for; Wikipedia is one of the only places to go to get a semblance of information that might be real and not ai garbage lol

oh my favorite trope? two people who go through something so unique and agonizing and entirely beyond words that they have no choice but to create a bond that transcends all other types of love, thus acting as the sole point of understanding for the other person in a world that cannot fathom what theyโ€™ve been through

i know we're all sick of self-care being a marketing tactic now, but i don't think a lot of us have any other concept of self-care beyond what companies have tried to sell us, so i thought i'd share my favorite self-care hand out

brought to you by how mad i just got at a Target ad

OP this is EXCELLENT

Now THATโ€™S a self care resource! If youโ€™ve gotten distracted by capitalismโ€™s appropriation of โ€œself-careโ€ and watering the meaning down to nothing this is a super helpful guide to cut through the bullshit.

If you're in the U.S. and want to support local plants and pollinators, I hope you've heard of the Xerces Society. Weird name, but super cool resource for gardening for insect pollinators (and they work for other invertebrate species, too)

They've got regional native plant lists:

They've also got super helpful things in their resources section, including Washington's plan for helping bumble bees:

Another really cool resource is the National Wildlife Federation's list of key stone plant species by ecoregion:

The organization is named after the Xerces blue butterfly, or Glaucopsyche xerces. It went extinct in the 1940โ€ฒs because itโ€™s larval host plant could not thrive in human disturbed soils.

The Xerces Society exists to help prevent the extinction of as many North American invertebrates as possible. Not many people know this but organizations like this actually have to sue to get species added to the endangered species list so they can be protected. Recently, they just got the western bumblebee added. They also fought to make sure that California recognizes insects as being worthy of protection under endangered species acts. I support them monthly and encourage anyone who can to do the same.

i honestly donโ€™t know how this happened but somewhere between my childhood and formative years i forgot how to exist like a normal person and started to either overthink everything or make disastrous choices without any proper thinking at all. no middle ground whatsoever

By far the funniest transition timelines are the ones from trans men where the "before" picture is some teeny little guy with sad baby seal eyes and the "after" picture looks like Kratos

This is one of the top posts in r/transtimelines and it really sums up what I'm talking about

My irl saw this post and sent me this even crazier transformation today! The little guy to Kratos pipeline is real!!!
