Hi! I was wondering if you would you please help me understand the pronunciations of the Houses of Healing (Arwen's Song) song you translated from Lord of The Rings??

Hi there! Sorry for the wait, I'm not very active here.

This singer did a great job with the song:

I also can't recommend RealElvish.net enough for their tools on learning Sindarin, including pronunciation:

Hope that helps!

A little status update

Suilad, mellyn,

it’s been very quiet on this blog, I know. I’m currently in the last stretch of university and I’m trying to get back in to translating and pick this whole thing back up.

Thank you to those who’ve sticked around. And to those who’ve only recently found me, welcome, I hope to give you some new things soon.

For now, I’ll leave you with some clues as to which songs I’m working on.

The first one is a traditional song, that in recent years has been adapted for a tv series set in its time.

The second one is a song from one of the oldest Disney animated movies.

Can you recognise them?

Arwen’s song, also known as ‘Houses of Healing’, from the Lord of the Rings’ “The Return of The King” translated to Sindarin Elvish.

I take no credit for the original words or music. However, if you use this translation, please do credit and tag me for my translation and send me a link to your work, as I would love to hear (or see) it.

If you want to sing it but don’t know how to get started with the pronunciation, just send me a message.

Friends, Romans, Followers

I went over 300 followers a little while ago.

I want to thank you all for your patience, I know I sometimes have gaps in my uploading schedule, I’ve been self reblogging my older sheets lately and new songs take a lot of time. A blog that only posts original content or reblogs things related to their original content is not the most active blog around.

But I’m grateful for every one of you who decided this blog is worth following.

I’m grateful for every one of you. I’m grateful for those among you who follow me and then like 70+ of my posts (You know who you are, I see you.) and for those amazing people who have sung and are singing some of the songs I’ve done. I’m incredibly grateful for every reblog, because posting original content only doesn’t get you as much exposure.

Sometimes I get a little stuck with my translations and my blog, and every bit of activity you beautiful people provide is motivation. Every like, reblog or follow. Every message in my inbox, the unexpected anon telling me to keep up what I’m doing.

You motivate me, all sweet 300 of you.

I go through the tags of reblogs, and I know why I’m doing this.

You all give me goosebumps too sometimes, just so you know. And you need to stop cutting these onions near me, asap.

I went over 300 followers a little while ago. And I know 300 isn’t much, when I look at some of those amazing blogs that hit several thousands. I don’t draw, I know people like visuals and that’s why I’ve done most songs in sheets only now. Sheet music does look good. I don’t reblog much, but I want to keep this blog a little pure as a sort of source blog.

300 isn’t much compared to 3000, but you are 300 people more than I expected when I started out. Only 6 months ago it was a 100, and I almost cried of joy and didn’t think your numbers would grow so much in so little time. If you’d told me then, I wouldn’t have believed you.

I’m currently in exams so new content will be slow to appear, but know that I’m working on several new songs. There’s also song recordings still on the way.

Thank you, my beautiful 300. Thank you so much.
