“select your gender” except the options are uquiz aesthetics

less of this

more of this

this is what im talking about. that’s gender

Most inclusive option:

[uploads DOOM as my gender]

So fun fact that won't surprise anyone who knows me: I've done this. My job had a inclusivity survey that pissed me off (they included "transgender" and "cis gender" as possible responses for "what's your gender?", alongside "male" and "female"!) but I noticed they didn't put a length limit on the gender field if you selected "other". So...

They didn't accept binary files (which is fine, my gender isn't binary) so I had to base64 encode doom, but even though it froze chrome for nearly 8 hours, I was able to paste a full copy of the Doom install disks into the form.

as a side project while waiting on chrome to unfreeze, I developed a way to encode Doom into PNG files that could safely be posted on Twitter without them being corrupted into JPEGs, as Twitter loves to do.

Anyway, the thread is here, but really all you need is this one screenshot.

Oh my god they ran doom on their gender

Lessons in Affection: thetwistedmafia

El sat up from where they reclined on the black fabric couch, and stared in disbelief over at Isaac. They had to have heard that wrong. There was just no way he wasn’t familiar with the term.

They quickly tucked their purple locks behind their ear so they could hear him 100% clearly. “Are you being serious? You don’t know what cuddling means?”

Isaac tilted his head, landing on the ground and shaking his head. “No, I have never heard this term. Is it important? Do you need it for survival where you are from?”

They shifted to their Eldin form, already knowing they were going to need the extra height from their male form as she shifted on the couch. “Uh- no, it’s not needed for survival but it is really nice. Remember how I showed you what a hug was? It’s kind of like that but different? It requires laying down or reclining.”

Eldin furrowed his eyebrows. It was harder to describe than he thought. “Uh- you know what, it would be easier to show you. Come here.”

Isaac dropped to the ground, his bare feet gently hitting the ground. He shifted on his feet slightly, getting used to standing again. He wore one of Eldin’s sweaters and shorts, since El had said he needed to wear comfier clothes in bed.

He stepped over and sat next to Eldin, unsure of what to do.

Eldin looked over Isaac in appreciation, the demon was much cuter in his clothes than he was. It made him both envious as well as grateful for that fact. While Isaac walked over, Eldin quickly set up the pillows behind him to support the upcoming position. Once Isaac sat down, he gently pulled the other to lay down with him and started to adjust their position. “You lay here with me and I hug you like this and we just kind of stay like this. It’s great for relaxing, sleeping, and just being. What do you think?”

Isaac was confused until Eldin started holding him. It felt…. Nice. The demon hadn’t felt this way for a very long time. He pushed himself closer to El, hoping more of the feeling would come.

A strange feeling washed over the demon, and he looked up into Eldin’s eyes. “I feel strange.”

First, Isaac’s skin warmed, no longer being cool to the touch. It started to flush with color. Gone was his perfect porcelain skin, but instead he had a fair tone all over, small scars on his body from small incidents. Freckles peppered his face on his cheeks, mainly near his eyes. The iridescent gold of his eyes bleeding away to show a more soft grey color.

He saw a strange look in Eldin’s eyes. “What?”

Cuddles are a success! A thought made much too soon.

Eldin had watched Isaac cuddle closer with a touch of amusement until the changing started. Amusement quickly turned to confusion, shock, then horror. Before his eyes, the Isaac he knew melted away into a human! It was like his own shifting and yet entirely different. Isaac usual cool aura warmed up the moment the shifting started. It would have been a fascinating and super cool thing if not for one slight problem. Eldin knew that face.

There was no way he could forget it. It was the face of the boy he failed to save well over a hundred years ago according to this dimension’s timeline. He stopped the demon summoning ritual but didn’t make it in time to save the boy being sacrificed during it. Eldin still had nightmares of the hollow face that looked up at him…Now here it was again, alive, sort of, and staring at him.

Before he could stop them, tears started to roll down his face and the words tumbled out before he could stop them. “I’m so sorry”

Isaac was confused, then sad, then upset with himself. He had a whirl of things he hadn’t felt in years wash over him like a cascade, overwhelming him to the point where tears started streaming down his face.

The boy clinged to Eldin, the purple haired boy in front of him being the only thing familiar to him at the moment. Things he hasn’t felt in a couple centuries at least. “I don’t know what you’re talking about but it’s okay. I promise.

“I…I…” Eldin hesitantly reached for him, his hand trembled as he gently pressed his palm to Isaac’s cheek. “Are…are you okay? How do you feel?”

He could tell from the way Isaac clung to him that he might not be feeling the best, but it felt worth asking. “Does this…has this happened before?”

“I-I..” the boys usual cool demeanor and blunt way with words was gone. Why couldn’t he say the things he needed to? He didn’t even know what words were needed to be said.

“I don’t remember who I am.” He finally said, shifting, “I know you. I like you. You’re always nice. I remember showing up to a place with a sign and people asked me to do things. I could always do it, no matter what they said.”

“And I know you from a long time ago.” He tilted his head, studying the boy, “I don’t remember where or when. You look familiar, and you make me feel safe.”

Eldin felt the tears brim again but this time he blinked them away. Focus. Don’t get emotional…but how do you tell the someone the truth when the truth is dark and painful? And more importantly, how can you not get emotional when doing so????

“I’m Eldin. You’ve been going by the name Isaac and we have been living together for many months now. You’re a demon but you were once human and this seems to be your more human side coming out,” Eldin gently explained. “I…I didn’t know what happened to you before, but seeing your human face I finally know what happened to cause you to become a demon. I’m just not sure you want to hear it.”

Isaac clung tighter to Eldin, processing the information that was just given to him.

“Isaac.” He said slowly, then looked up at Eldin, blushing intensely, “We.. live together?” He asked, showing a sudden shyness that wasn’t there before. “Tell me. What you mean.”

Eldin wasn’t sure which part of the weighted brief explanation Isaac wanted more clarification of. All of it? The living together part? Hm. He should focus on that first since that’s what Isaac asked about first.

He nodded. “We do. When I summoned you to the surface, you were supposed to go back to Hell after a couple of days. But we ended up really liking being around each other so you moved into my apartment with me. You’ve been staying with me ever since.”

"Oh. Hell?" Isaac looked around the house. "Um, what do we do now?" He asked, clinging close to Eldin because it's the only thing he can really know right now.

“Fruit offerings don’t count, they’re like snacks. I’m talking full meals,” Ella clarified. She snapped her fingers. “That’s it! We can go the Purgatory Chasm! They have the best food in town. They’re best known for their meats, like burgers and stuff, but they have some really good vegetarian options if you don’t want to try meat.”

She nodded. “I know how that one goes. No worries my demon dude, I’m sure you’re old enough to get into the bar.”

Isaac said nothing in reply, and simply followed El to their destination. The large building and old sign made him tilt his head. “I thought this place was abandoned.”

“That’s what he wants you to think. It’s part of the atmosphere,” Ella explained with a grin. She grabbed the heavy wooden door and pulled it open. The smells of cooking foods wafted from within as the sound of loud talking and laughing poured out as well.

She looked inside, the lights dim as usual, to see all the other Supernatural beings within before looking back at Isaac. “They’re busy tonight so stay close and try not to cause a fight or anything, alright? I’ll find us a good spot if there’s one open”

Isaac stuck close to El, unsure of what to do. Then, the boy spotted a peculiar crystal bowl full of strange colored things. He went over and the fairy holding it smiled at him.

“Oh, you like what you see, honey?” she asked, holding it out to him. “I promise it’s delicious~”

“Come on now, Haze, we talked about offering food in my bar,” Demetri chided.

The fae pouted and pulled back her bowl. “You never let me have any fun.”

Once she went off, Demeteri smiled at the demon boy. “Hello, my name is Demetri. Welcome to the Purgatory Chasm. What brings you by?”

“I was brought by..” Isaac turned around to make sure El was still nearby, then he pointed, “This one.” He said simply, going over beside them. “They said the food was good.”

Ella had been leaning against the bar chatting up the female bartender about getting drinks for her and Isaac she heard him talking. She turned to see him and Demetri together. “If it isn’t my favorite vampire bartender.”

Demetri laughed. “Aren’t I the only vampire bartender you know?”

“Doesn’t mean you can’t be my favorite,” Ella countered. She stepped over to Isaac. “This is Isaac. I’m giving him a tour of the surface. Can you believe he’s never had real food before?”

Demetri gasped. “Say no more! Have a seat. We’ll send the best we have.” He looked at Isaac. “Do you know if you meat?”

“If I.. what?” The demon asked, tilting his head in curiosity. He was processing everything around him, looking around and sort of paying attention to the people in the area.

“What… are you?” He asked Demetri, suddenly. He was unaware if he was being blunt, but he hadn’t felt a being like this before.

Demetri smiled at the newcomer in amusement as he led them to an open table. “My name is Demetri, I’m a vampire and the owner of this bar.”

He pulled the menus from the holder on the table and set it in front of them both. “Do you have a name I can call you?”

Ella picked up her menu and gave it a pretend read over. As if she didn’t already know what she wanted to order.

"Isaac." He said simply, looking at the menu, "I have only ever had fruit.. I will just take whatever this one has." As he said this, he floated down onto the seat next to El, staying close like a child afraid to get lost.

"This is my first time coming to your world. It is.. different."

College AU: thetwistedmafia

Ella trudged down the hall towards her dorm. It had only been four months she lost her roommate and each time she felt reluctant to go back to the room…and yet, as she made her way down the cream colored halls, the exhaustion from the sleepless night and the day of work was pressing down on her. She had to go back.

She took out her card and slipped it into the lock reader then opened the door. Ella had only taken one step inside the room when her eyes fell onto the boy standing there with her wardrobe wide open. “What are you doing in here?!This is a girls floor!”

Wait! Get help! Ella slammed the door shut and took off down the hall. When she made it to the RA’s door, she pounded on the door.  “Clarrisa! A boy broke into my room!”

Today was probably the worst day of Isaac’s life.

First, he had been denied a spot in the male dorms, due to some bullshit about his wellbeing and safety. Now, he was in the female dorms, and the RA insisted on deadnaming him, so that was fun. Now, he opened the nearest wardrobe and found someone else’s clothes, and his supposed new roommate screamed at him. It was going to be a long day.

Claire opened the door, confused at Ella’s yelling. “A boy?? In your room?? Let’s go check it out.” Claire led Ella to her room, and opened the door. She looked upset at first, then sighed. “Ella, this is your new roommate, Isabelle.” She said, waving, “Isabelle, this is Ella. You two will be roommates from this point forward.

Isaac flinched at every mention of the name, and looked down at his shoes, wringing his hands. “It’s..Isaac, actually.”

Claire clicked her tongue, “You’re going to confuse people with that nonsense, Isabelle. Just go by your real name.”

Isaac flinched again, and was close to tears. Again.

At first Ella was fuming about the boy in the room when she went to see Claire, but then they went back to the room. Ella watched at first in confusion but then as the pair interacted, the pieces clicked into place. Oh no. He’s trans. And Claire is being an ass about it!! Oh no. Not in her dorm.

A new anger immediatly ignited and suddenly Ella was dragging Claire into the hallway. “Okay. My mistake. You’ve done enough. I got this. You go away. Thanks for nothing. Don’t come back. It’s Isaac. Ta ta.”

Once the sputtering Claire was securely in the hallway Ella doubled back then slammed the door in her face She spun around and started closing the gap in between her and her new roommate. “I am so sorry, Isaac! I thought you were breaking in my room. The last time I found a guy in my dorm didn’t go well. It’ll be weird being the only co-ed dorm in the building but I think we can make it work.”

She went to her desk and grabbed the purple box of tissues on it. The box was then offered as a truce. “Can we start again? I’m Ella.”

Isaac stared at the girl in front of him in confusion. She was super mad at first, and now she’s being nice? Then he thought a moment. The good thing out of that was that he passed so well someone thought he was breaking in.

He took a tissue and started drying his eyes, “I’m sorry, I wouldn’t be in your room if I didn’t have to be. I’ll be really respectful and this is your space, I’m just staying here. I don’t want to cause trouble.” He was trying to be nice, but he was wary of her sudden shift in tone.

When he took the tissue, Ella set it back down on her desk and plopped down on the edge of her bed. “I should apologize too. I um-”

She took a breath before speaking. “I had a stalker. One night he broke into my dorm and he hurt me and my roommate. She left the school and the dorms are too full to move me to another room so I’ve just been here…that’s why I freaked out when I saw you. It um- brought back some bad memories.”

She wiped a tear realizing it had fallen. “And then I realized you were trans by how the ice queen was acting and just- how rude is that?! I hate how insensitive she can be about gender. I told her how I was genderfluid and she completely wrote me off like a jerk!”

Isaac sat in a chair nearby at an empty desk, “I get that. I tried to get a spot in the male dorms but they told me that it would be a danger to myself and others, whatever that means.”

He sighed, “And yeah.. she doesn’t like to call me by my boys name. I have some old clothes from before I came out I was thinking of wearing just to appease her..” he made a face, “I’d really rather not.”

“You know you just call it your name, right?” she asked him as she sat down at the desk next to his with a small chuckle. And by that, it means she sat backwards on the chair with her arms draped over the back-turned-front of the chair. “I’ve never heard it called a boys name since it’s just, you know, your name”

She frowned. “You don’t have to dress in your old clothes. No one on this floor will give you trouble for it. The girls here have been really nice about supporting my genderfuildity, Claire is the only one who seems to have a problem with it.”

"Habit, sorry." Isaac sighed and kicked his feet. Damn, he's short. He looked up again, "It's how I talk about it with my parents. My mother tries to be supportive, but she doesn't quite get it. It's harder to get through to my dad."

He perked up a bit, "On the bright side, I got the spot for TA in musical theory in history. The prof there's nice, a good getaway from the people here. He's a bit weird, though." He blushed as he realized he was on a tangent, then looked at El, "Yaknow, school stuff."

A Night Out: thetwistedmafia

“She’s small, a pushover, and too nice for her own good,” Ciara listed off. She took the glass and took a drink. The heat of the alcohol rushed down her throat and felt like heaven. It hit the spot exactly where she needed it to. “Keep the creeps off of her. She has the ability to defend herself, but lacks the capacity. A guy in a van could tell her he has a puppy in the back and she would jump into it without hesitation.”

Celina propped her head up with her hands and elbows rested on the bar table so she could watch. It was absolutely fascinating to see him work! And he made the drink blue! Celina eagerly took the drink in both hands, a wide smile returning once more after she took a drink. “Thank you so much! I’m here with Ciara. She promised I could finally see where she keeps running off to. I really wanted to meet all her friends and now here I am!”

Sam smiled at Ciara, glancing down the bar to see Luke attempting to entertain Celina. He glanced at Ciara, "She's taking a liking to my brother, it seems."

Luke smiled a bit, then raised an eyebrow at The mention of the fairy's name. "You're with Ciara? So then you must be the sister we've heard about then?" He went back to cleaning the bar, "How do you like the place? I know it's not what fairies are used to."

Locked Away: thetwistedmafia

Breya’s mission was clear: get Willow and get her to the safe room.

It was only once the door was shut that Breya set Willow down. In the heat of the moment with her charge still demanding to stay and fight the intruders, Breya had slung the other over her shoulder and raced to Willow’s safe room.

“My apologies, Willow,” Breya said once she had sat Willow on her on the bed within the room. “Are you alright?”

Breya studied Willow for a moment before she shook her head. Chasing away boredom by talking with someone who rarely spoke unless spoken to? What a strange one Willow could be, and yet it was unsurprising at the same time. Oh well, she shall indulge the young woman regardless. The guard shifted her position to give Willow her full attention. “What would you like to talk about?”

Willow sat for a moment. And another.

"I'm not sure." She finally announced, "I didn't think I'd get this far." She pondered for a moment. "How did you come to work for my family?"

It Takes Two to Tango but One to Shoot: thetwistedmafia

Ciara had a reputation of always being a touch…extra. Hence, the several hours spent getting ready for her date night with Sam. Did she need to wear the form fitting black dress that flowed out at the hips with the slit up the left thigh to leave plenty of skin for Sam to touch? That is to say, did she need to wear it to dinner and then a night at the shooting range? No. Was that going to stop her? Hell no.

That’s why the young woman took the time to craft a perfect up do, with Breya’s help, secured in part with two deep red ‘chopsticks.’ The weapons in disguise were an added touch from the guard since Sam and Ciara had a knack for making and seeking trouble. Black and red danging earrings with a matching necklace were added for taste. And of course, she had to bring it all together with black high heels. Once she was satisfied with her make-up, Ciara did one last look over in the mirror. Her lipstick was touched up one last time before she grabbed her black clutch and headed downstairs to find her man.

He should consider himself lucky, she was only a few minutes late this time. And if he complained? Well, let’s just say her heels weren’t just sharp for the sake of fashion. Ciara smirked. Then again, he should already know better than that.

Sam was used to waiting.

At this point, he was concerned for Ciara if she wasn't late for a date. He straightened his jacket out. He was usually quite a bit early, as he's gotten used to the tailored suits he's forced to wear for formal events. It didn't help that it had to be retouched to accommodate weaponry (a blessing, he supposed, at least now they don't have to bring family guards).

He was waiting at the bottom of the stairs patiently for her, chatting idly with his sister, when Ciara came down at last. He smirked to himself.

"Fashionably late, as always." He commented, before looking her up and down. He had grown to learn what Ciara's plans for the night were by what was showing and what wasn't. Quite a bit was showing. "Are the shoes practical for the range?"

A Night Out: thetwistedmafia

“Where are we going?” Celina asked for the millionth time since the other dragged her out of the house.

Ciara rolled her eyes and had to contemplate not killing her other half. Conversations were much better when they weren’t separated. Then she could just tune Celina out as a voice in her head. Now only duct tape or yelling could shut her up. “You wanted to see where I go on the weekends so I’m showing you. Stop. Asking.”

Celina pouted but did as she was told. She was smart enough to recognize the strained tone Ciara used when she was trying not to kill someone. Since she was the only one close by on the quiet evening street she knew that someone was her.

It took another couple of blocks before they arrived at a bar. Celina so desperately wanted to ask questions about the location but decided against it. She really didn’t want to deal with dying tonight. And so Ciara dragged her inside and pushed her on a chair beside the bar.

“Stay here. I need to grab something. Don’t move,” Ciara instructed, her voice stern in hopes her too-curious-for-her-own-good sister might listen.

Celina nodded. “Yes, ma’am.”

Ciara rolled her eyes once more before she slipped into the crowd of the bar and disappeared.

Celina lightly swung her legs as they didn’t come close to touching the ground. Her pale blue almost silver eyes watched the people in curiosity, such a variety of people filled the space. The bar smelled old with a mix of stale and fresh alcohol. The buzz of magic filled the air and brushed her skin like a never ending cascade of feathers. So it was a magical bar! How fascinating!

Both of the boys perked up when they felt the presence of the girls walk in. They knew Ciara, of course. They both subconsciously smiled to themselves and went on about their work.

The rest of the staff was busy, of course, Willow fleeting around the bar and making sure everything was good for the people sitting down. She gave a quick wave and a smile to Ciara as she passed, recognizing the regular before getting back to work.

Isaac was busy resetting tables and cleaning up glasses, nearly bumping into Ciara as she slipped past him. He gave a silent nod towards the girl, and went about his day.

Sam gave a warm smile to the girl as she approached, “Ciara! Dear! How are you this fine evening? Come looking for anything in particular?”

Lucas had been tending to the bar when Ciara sat a girl down nearby and told her to wait. He decided to mosey on over to her, as he wasn’t busy. “Welcome to Heaven’s Disaster. Can I get you anything to drink?”

Ciara greeted her people as warm as someone like her can do, which in reality was pretty warm. She’s not completely cold. She can like people…so she likes a total of maybe eight people.

She slipped up to a bar stool in front of Sam with a long groan. “Something strong. Nothing cheap. Celina insisted on coming tonight and I already regret it.”

Celina turned back to look at the man that approached her. She perked up, a wide smile formed instantly when he did. A new friend! And he’s cute! She gasped in delight. “Heaven’s Disaster? That’s such a creative name! What kind of drinks do you have? Do you have milkshakes? Or maybe those fizzy lemonades? Oo! What about something blue?! I love drinks that are blue!”

She giggled and her smile turned a bit shy. “Sorry, I’m so excited tonight. I don’t usually get to go to places like this. It’s all so new and exciting!”

Sam gave Ciara a inquisitive look, "The one we've heard so much about? That sounds like a blast." He started mixing her drink. Once he slid it up, he leaned on the counter once more. "So, anything we should be aware with when it comes to her?"

On the other side, Lucas raised an eyebrow at the girl in front of him. She shouldn't have alcohol, he noted to himself. He got out some fruit usually reserved for the desserts and started making her a smoothie that was as close to blue as he could get it. "Here you are. What brings you here?"

An Interesting Situation

Derek was in a fine suit, black with purple accents, and had a glass in his hand. The liquid was unidentifiable, but most definitely a strong alcohol. He stood over the bed of the poor soul in front of him. He nudged the sleeping being in front of him, speaking in a soft voice. His appearance was seemingly ethereal as he spoke.

"Wake." He commanded gently, waiting for the soul in front of him to rouse.

Derek paused, then shrugged, "Sure. I haven't eaten in a while." He took one, and chewed on it thoughtfully, "They're good. I can see why you like them."

“It was my grandmother that likes them so much I got them for her” he told Derek as he kept eating sipping his milk fidgeting a bit tapping his fingers as he tried to relax but finding it difficult “they make me think of her...I need to make arrangements to clean this place out I think..I don’t live here I live down the the street”

"I can take care of that if you wish." The man stood up and rebuttoned his jacket, "Just show me where you're staying and I can take care of everything."

“Oh um yes I’ll show you once I’m done” he said nodding finishing up his food and drink before he slowly got up looking to the other fidgeting “oh sorry are you done? I should of waited”

Derek gave a warm smile at the boy, eyes crinkling a bit, "Don't worry, I'm finished. Let's go see what we're dealing with here."

A Lonely Night

The bar was quiet tonight, nothing too exciting but not too busy. The music played softly as the customers mingled and the workers worked.

The twins were by the bar, serving drinks when they were asked, but mostly chatting with the clientele while they cleaned.

Willow was talking with some regulars at a booth, sometimes being called to bring food or drinks out.

Isaac was mainly delivering food and making sure everything was going good with the people, but mostly stuck by the twins near the bar.

The bell rang, and Luke turned to the door, "Welcome in, if you need a drink, come see me, or I can send someone over to you if you'd prefer a table."

The twins walked in,bickering amongst themselves in an idle manner. They were used to having mindless debates and arguments to pass the time, even their most heated disagreements were a simple product of boredom.

Upon being welcome in the pair went silent in their bickering to prepare greetings of their own.James, the oldest of the two, gave a big smile in response before looking to his sister who simply nodded her head in direction of the bar.

“I have a need only liquor can satisfy.”She boldly joked as she led her brother to the bar to take a seat.

Lucas wiped down a glass and set it in front of the girl in front of him.

"So, what'll it be? He asked, glancing away for a sec when Isaac got behind the bar and hopped into a stool, "got a bit of everything here."

“a Honey Jack and a Sprite.Sprite?spirte.”Jess decided almost reluctantly. Her brother was unfortunately not very good with holding his liquor which left her to drink alone.

“Shirleytemple actually,I like the little candy cherries.”James said in a smug manner as he leaned on the bar.

Luke smiled as he started to mix their drinks up. "New in town? Or just new to here?" He asked nonchalantly, then nodded to Isaac.

The boy hopped off his stool and walked around the counter, "Would you like some food?" He asked, looking up at the patrons.

“We were new like 16 years ago but nah,we work at a night club and we wanted a change I scenery.”Jess informed before looking to her brother who was practically salivating He was greed, gluttony AND pride when it came to food.

James nodded.”I could eat.”He declared smugly before picking up a menu to give it a once over before deciding.”May I have all of the desserts?and a salad please?”

The boy raised an eyebrow at the amount of food that was asked for, but after a nod from Lucas, he simply walked away, scribbling in a notepad.

Luke slid their glasses over, "Well, this place is certainly a scene. I'm Lucas, run the place with my brother Sam. You just met Isaac, he takes care of the cleaning and some serving. You haven't met Willow, but she basically makes sure everyone is getting what they need. If you have any problems, come to any of us and we can take care of it."

Hellfire: thetwistedmafia

“And that’s why you’re better off without him,” Ciara told Martha as she poured her another glass. The same middle-aged Martha who had returned yet again for the sixth night in a row after being dumped by her most recent ex. For fucks sake. Did this woman have a job? If she cared that much Ciara would ask, but all she cared about was the large tip waiting for her once Martha was done retelling her life’s woes…again.

Then the bar door opened and Ciara turned her attention to the latest bargoer. A sigh left her lips before she could stop it. Great. Greg was back. She tucked a strand of her black hair behind her ear and grabbed for a glass, preparing to make Greg’s usual. The night just got a whole lot longer.

This host was annoying. And dying. Typical. Why did the host always have to die? They never are willing to kill just for a bit of food. And so the being had to resort to eating the host. It began to speak to the bartender.

“Beer. Need salt.” It said to the host, but the host was busy flirting. “Hungry.” The being insisted, but was ignored.“

“Ciara, baby!” Greg said, with a swagger that he had never had before. That was the confidence of a man with a super powerful alien inside him. “How’s my favorite waitress?” He started right off the bat by getting much too close.

It took A LOT of willpower to keep from rolling her eyes at Greg’s greeting. The guy annoyed her enough as is but now he seemed too confident. This was going to be rough. She gave her best fake smile and set the beer down in front of him. “Hey there, Greg. Back already?”

She tilted her head as she looked him over. His skin seemed paler and sweatier than normal, and his eyes looked a bit sunken. Mix that with his new confidence and a theory was forming. She narrowed her eyes at him. “Are you on drugs? You want to know what happened the last time a guy came in here high and tried to get with me? I kicked his ass.”

Martha lifted her glass towards them. “Wish I had your fire.”

Ciara let out a small laugh. “I’ll give you a lesson some time.”

“The only drug I’m on is confidence and power.” He said, smiling.

“That was bad. Can we eat her? I’ll eat you. Let me eat.” The symbiote made Greg shiver to try and get his attention. .

“Not eating this one!” Greg yelled, shaking his head, “We’ll eat later. I promise.”

Oh my god. Kill me now.

It took everything in Ciara’s willpower to continue to be mostly hospitable towards Greg. If his appearance wasn’t bad enough, that line was pushing it. “You don’t say?”

Once he started talking to himself, Ciara knew there was no doubt he was high. The bartender was not dealing with that tonight; tip or no tip. “You should go home, Greg. I’ll call you a cab.”

Greg stopped muttering to himself and yanked his head towards Ciara. His movements were jerky, and almost like he was fighting himself.

His hand clamped onto Ciara’s arm, hard. Greg actually looked terrified of what he was doing. On the inside, the creature stirring within was preparing for it’s first meal in a week.

“Fucking hell, Greg!” Ciara jerked her arm back but his grip held her firm.

This was going too far. Even if he was high, no one touched her like that and got away from it. Ciara pulled back her free fist and decked the guy hard in the face. It wasn’t her first time throwing a punch and like hell was she about to have it be her last.

The creature within paused. This one had fire. He liked it. He would take it.

An oily black substance slithered from Greg’s hand to Ciara’s, making Greg quickly let go and start freaking out. “No! Come back!”

Once it was settled, the creature pulled Ciara’s fist back again, and delivered another blow to Greg. This time, he went flying.

“What the fuck?!” Ciara shouted when whatever the hell that black snot was moved from Greg to her.

Her whole body tensed and locked up as the cold and slimy thing made its way on her chest and disappeared inside. But no, it couldn’t have just stopped there. Of course not! No, next thing she knew, her hand was moving on it’s own to deliver a punch to Greg that sent him flying across the bar. It was satisfying as hell to watch, but only further reminded her something was now wrong with her. She quickly grabbed her coat from under the bar and jumped over the bar top only to go much farther than she thought she would and end up halfway across the room. “What the fuck?! Martha! Tell Carlos Im sick and went to the hospital!”

There wasn’t time for a reply. Ciara rushed out of the bar and towards her car. “I’m dying or going crazy. Both? What is it happening to me?!”

Red tendrils formed around Ciara’s body, forcing her to turn around as she turned into a hulking beast. “We will eat the man who has starved me for days. Then we will eat others.“ The being wrenched towards the bar again, breaking down the door and causing the woman Ciara was talking with to scream in terror.

Ciara froze in a panic when the strange squid arms wrapped around her. “What the fuck?! Get off of me!” She tried to pull against them but they took over too fast for her. All she could do was watch in pissed off horror as this thing did what it wanted. “What in the hell are you doing?! You’re not seriously going to eat him, are you?”

The creature froze, tilting it's head in thought, "Should I not eat him?" It asked slowly, at first seeming to to itself, but in the quiet that followed it seemed to be a question directed towards Ciara.

Falling: thetwistedmafia

El jumped back when the head formed, the slithering flowing sound making them cringe as much as shocked. “Holy starcraft! You’re one of those symbiotic aliens! What are you doing on Earth? Why- Why didn’t you ask? Consent is very important all galaxies! You can’t just get all up in someone and ‘wear them’ without asking! That’s rude!”

They shook their head at the name. The mere sound of it causing their heart to race. “Nope. Nope nope nope. You’ve been in my head, so you know Chaos is not going to work. You need a nickname or a new name or something. You like Issac? What about Bob? Theo? Hiancyth? Synthia? Blake? Eugene? Something. Anything else.”

It tilted it’s head, “You would have died without me. I would have died without you. Think of it as an instinct for mutual survival.”

It chuckled at El’s next response, “I have seen it, it just made it fitting to me. You can choose whatever name you wish.”

“How about next time you ask me? Alright?” El sighed and sat the ground, pulling their knees up partially and draped their arms on top of their knees. “Just give me a sec to think”

Teal eyes studied the head before them. What were they supposed to do? If they kicked him out, he would die. If they didn’t then they were stuck with an alien inside them till who knows when. El turned their wrist and stole a look at their watch, all systems were stable except the warning of the additional unknown substance now among their other innards. It didn’t hurt and there didn’t seem to be any immediate dangers that came with having him around and it might be nice to have company for once.

El sighed and looked back up at his head. “Alright, if I let you stay then we need to lay down some rules and get some things cleared up on how this whole thing is going to work. Firstly, how do you feel about Isaac? It sounds like a good fit for you to me”

“You can use whatever name you wish.” The being retreated back into El, “I need to feed, and if I don’t soon, your organs are starting to look delicious.” Deep blue started to cover El, and wrenched them towards the nearest small town. It started running, reciting all the small pleasures of eating the local wildlife.

“I’m gonna call you Isaac,” El decided after a moment of thought. They were feeling as alright as they could until the blue suddenly started taking over. “Hey! Whoa! What did we say about consent? You can’t just take over whenever you want, you have to ask! And if we’re eating people then we need to lay some ground rules. I get you need to eat but you can’t just eat good people. The bad people? Sure, but not the good ones.”

She sighed in his head. “And my organs are kind of more of for show than anything. They’ll grow back and everything if you actually try to eat them…would they even work as food for you? We have so much stuff to figure out if we want to make this work.”

The being now called Isaac stopped suddenly, retracting within El's body and humming thoughtfully inside their head.

"Alright. I'll only come out once permission has been gained." A sound reverberated inside El's head, almost a yawn, "But I would like food. There is a chemical compound found in most carbon based creatures that serve as a food base for my species. It is also present in a particular plant that shows up on some planets. Only when refined into something called.." the being wracked El's brain for the word in the language currently being spoken, "Chocolate."

Derek found himself a chair, swirling his drink in his glass as the two said their goodbyes. He glanced at his watch every now and then. He seemed calm, but he was silently yelling at himself for getting into this mess. He'd have to put his work on hold and let the lessers do it for a while, just till he figured out what to do with the boy.

“It be cool if we could have one last one together but the fact I get to say good bye is good enough I suppose and a hug would be better then some pastry I’m sorry I wasn’t here sooner I ran late off work then I wanted to surprise you, I tried my best to mentally prepare myself for this bit you never really can” he said his grand mother just smiling as She listened almost caressing his face as they talked for a bit “I know how to say good bye but not this kinda good bye and we only have a few minutes but I suppose I won’t say good bye and just say see you later maybe in about 70 years or so right...or do that whole spirit visiting dream thing “

"One minute." Derek said calmly, starting to stand and stretch a bit. "She's going somewhere nice, you won't have to worry about her."

“I always have to worry about her she’s my grandma she was a mother to me I always worry about her and that won’t stop after death...” he said looking to her trying to hold it all in trying to keep a brave face on for his grandmother “I’ll be alright grandma, and you will be too..you won’t be sick anymore and you can have all the sugar things you like you want, you’ll get to see grandpa, and great grandma and great grandpa..and who ever else you won’t be alone...I’ll be fine don’t worry you can go I’ll see you later though, I love you so much”

In a flash, the woman was gone and Derek had returned, his drink now gone. "Now, here comes more news you probably won't like."

He scratched his chin, feeling the stubble forming on his physical form, "I have to stay with you until I figure out how to get rid of that mark."

When they left Clark had sat down and began to break down shielding his eyes as tears fell down his cheeks pursing his lips together shaking his head letting out a shaky breath. “You can’t be serious? Death has to stay with me, wonderful” he mumbled shaking his head before ne looked up at the other not looking vulnerable “I got to call family if they’ll even answer me”. Clark just rolled his eyes sighing as he stepped out of the room and began to call his family informing them that grandma had died and that he would need help making arrangements.

Derek walked to the boy, not sure what to say to him to ease his pain. You spend so much time doing the job, you learn how to avoid moments like this.

"Listen.." he said gently, "I've got some resources I can pull. Tell your family a good friend of your Grandmother has offered money to help pay for her funeral arrangements."

“Sure I’ll do that” he said pursing his lips together briefly looking up to the other informing those that he could about the situation side glancing at the man every so often fidgeting a bit finding unnerving that death was litteraly looming over him.

Derek felt the other get nervous with him standing over him like that, so he wandered off and sat in a chair nearby, grabbing the phone nearby to start making calls.

Clark relaxed a bit when the other stepped away swallowing thickly tapping his fingers a bit. “I don’t what to do from here? Who do I call to pick her up? I never did this before” he told the other looking over to the other curiously.

"Taken care of." Derek put the phone down. "Are you alright? Do you need a drink? Food? I have money."
