So for the FGO JP 7th anniversary there was a big massive collage piece where people would submit pictures or tag them or whatever to be included in this big 7th anniversary collage etc. etc. Anyways what I’m trying to communicate is someone submitted a picture of Peter Griffin edited to look like Caesar and it got in

Here it is. And in case you think I’m joking here’s the large image full res

Vash+Meryl Essay

My first real contribution to a fandom!… On Tumblr! I have been lurking for a while now, and I thought it was about time I posted in the Trigun fandom (since I love it so much, and the Trigun fandom on Tumblr seems full of lovely people). Anywho, without further ado, I’m going to dump.. Er, leave this here! It’s an essay/analysis thing I wrote up about Vash and Meryl’s relationship! I only did the manga, because I personally found SO much chemistry between them! This is all conjecture on my part, and I’m very biased, but I hope someone enjoys it! And hopefully, I can meet some fellow VaMeri shippers.. Hehe. Let me know what you think, if you like it (or not)! Thanks lovelies~ <3 Also, WARNING! THE FOLLOWING IS VEEEEERY LONG. AND FULL OF SPOILERS. SERIOUSLY, YOU’VE BEEN WARNED.

Slight Jinako appreciation post ahead because it’s her birthday. Light spoilers for CCC and LB4.

I know I made like a joke post saying Ganesha/Jinako is the only good pseudo-Servant, but like… no joke, she’s probably one of the best ones that FGO has put out. Seriously.

She’s one of the few Pseudo-Servant’s that actually uses her role in the story for further her character arc rather than purely fanservice. One of the reasons Jinako was so compelling in Lostbelt 4 was because you get to see how far she’s come since CCC. In CCC she wasn’t really… a good person. She was selfish, arrogant– basically your sterotypical forum-browsing gamer, but she had a lot of pent up fears and pain that molded her into being like that, and in CCC we only get to see her slowly start working through them, but we never see the full results of her growth until Lostbelt 4.

And she’s grown in a realistic way. She didn’t leave the Moon Cell and immediately change her life. She’s not some sort of hero of justice, she’s far from perfect, but she’s improved. She’s still kind of lazy, yeah. She’s still a NEET, sure. But she’s a lot more selfless and open than she was in CCC. She’s willing to give people a chance and open up, she’s grown from someone who idolized Karna and saw him as ‘A Servant she didn’t deserve’ to fighting alongside him and feeling as if she deserved to fight alongside him.

She’s grown to the point where she was willing to basically trap herself in a sensory-deprivation chamber for thousands of years because she’s finally put out a limb to trust others, and knows the value of reciprocating that trust. She’s still afraid of dying, and ultimately being alone, but she puts forth enough trust in Chaldea that while she’ll have to stand alone for a long time, she won’t ultimately end up alone.

She’s a ‘fanservice character’, sure, but not in a way like Ishtar, Sitonai or Parvati where the divine spirit themselves take this awkward backseat in order to continuously make references about their hosts- the game makes it very clear that you called forth ‘Jinako Carigiri’, not ‘Ganesha who looks like Jinako’, but Jinako herself. There’s no awkward vagueness about her feelings towards other characters, or moments where ‘____’s acting weird because something something their host recognizes something’, you’re getting the genuine article and her interactions with characters like Karna hold weight because they’re just continuing what has already been established in CCC.

Her ‘fanservice’ is getting to see her truly complete the arc that she started in CCC, which is probably one of the better uses for fanservice out there.

Anyways, TL;DR, Jinako is the only Pseudo-Servant worth pulling and just burn everyone else.

Looove that Karna remembers Jinako so well. Its like the natural law of summoning and divine power tried to erase his memory but he loves Jinako so much that it barely worked

Its like knowing a fun fact but not remembering where you heard it. Being able to find your way home but unable to give directions.

Jinako left an impression on Karna's heart, one that made him the most joyful and human he has ever been.

when you first read about asvatthaman’s plan to have jinako spend thousands of years in pure solitude in order to create an object that godjuna will take for granted so that he doesn’t even consider wiping it out during kali yuga, your initial takeaway for what it says about him might be simply, “wow, his brain is just as huge as his muscles”. but what’s more to it is that it’s a plan that only ash could have come up with, and only jinako could have pulled off. asvatthaman, having been through his own type of unbearable torment from of krishna’s curse, is able to imagine strategies involving levels of suffering that most would find impossible to endure, and difficult to conceive of in the first place. it’s hard to imagine going through hell and living to tell about it if you haven’t done it yourself.

and he didn’t choose jinako to execute the most impossible part of that plan just because she happened to be there, when he could have picked lakshmi (who led an entire rebellion on her own and shows more obvious signs of capability) instead, or even undertook it himself. he looked at her and saw not her ineffectiveness in practical matters or in battle, but her capacity for enduring loneliness and her love for her friend and said, “yep, you’re the one for the really hard job”. he knows that not everyone is cut out for enduring eons of suffering - after all, in spite of being a battle-hardened warrior himself, he couldn’t endure his own torment and gave in to godjuna’s will in order to escape the pain of his curse. he knows from his experiences with his comrades during the war that most people are in fact like jinako - flawed, but doing their best, and that many who may at first glance appear useless can prove you completely wrong in the right situation. it’s this knack he has for spotting strength in even the most hopeless-seeming individuals, even a NEET like a jinako, as well as the suffering from the curse that was placed on him which, ironically on both counts, lead to arjuna’s downfall in the end.
