The Octave Collection is now officially complete. This fourth and final instalment focuses on your home office and bedroom dreams. This month flew past and I am happy that I finally got to create all of the items (well not all, but most of) I had planned. This is my largest set of items to date and I’m really happy with the end result considering what an open ended concept I begun with.
I’m always trying to raise the level of the content I release here each month and this set was no exception. This month I experimented with 3D sculpting for the very first time to create all of the fabric pleats and folds you see in the bedding. The first attempt looked like an old wrinkled face and got scrapped, but the 2nd attempt worked great and became the final texture. I’ll be using this new found skill a lot more in the future for a special set I have planned.
There are a few special things to note with this set, in particular with the full height modular bookshelves. I have created a system that fits perfectly within the shortest wall height and accompanying extension pieces to extend to the medium and tallest wall heights. I have created slots for the extensions to perfectly snap to, but there is an in game glitch that will delete items that are slotted on to an item that is also slotted onto another item. i.e. the bottom shelf, clutter and extension piece stay, but all of the items slotted onto the extension piece will disappear when you re open the lot. It doesn’t happen with every occurrence, so I really can’t predict when it will and wont happen, so I advise that if the items do disappear, to instead raise up the extension piece with the TOOL mod instead of slotting to the lower bookshelf and all the clutter you place will remain (FYI the bookshelf is 2.85 high). I will have an overview video out to cover this issue if my ramblings here weren’t clear, it should all make sense in the video out later this week.
The items are base game compatible with the exception of the radiators. These should show up and be decorative items if you only own base game, but for full functionality they require the Seasons EP.
I accidentally fell into a few Real Housewives episodes and felt the need to create some glam but versatile items to expand your sims wadrobes; Whether for a chic cocktail party or a hostile business takeover! Included in this set are 6 items plus an overlay for the metal belt.

Here we go, the MCM extends to the bathroom, with 35 brand new items! 😀
The main character is travertine! You will have a brand new travertine flooring, wallpaper, a hanging sink with a seamless extension. The point was to create long sinks and as much sinks as you want with accent extension, perfect for restaurant bathroom for example! You will have three new mirrors make for those sinks as they have the perfect size to be repeated “seamlessly” too!
You will also have two travertine accent tables meant to go along the wall! One has a little hole to clutter with the new collection of cosmetics, inspired by the brand Horace.I also wanted to add the standalone marble sink which is also coming in plain swatches! The plain swatches are the same for the bathtub and the toilets so you can match them like you want! 😀
Among the other items coming with this set, you will have simple glass dividers, in 4 heights. I really missed having a single glass to divide a shower or any room! It’s very versatile! Oh and also a new toilet paper roll 😂.

I’ve taken the Differences in the Family Tree Challenge floating around the internet & I’ve made it my own. I’ve made these rules pretty basic (sort of) so everyone can use this legacy challenge.
Remember: These are supposed to be guidelines to help your game be more enjoyable … if you feel like you’re not having fun during a particular generation or objective, just skip it!
P.S: if anyone has any ideas for a generation or objective please inbox me and I’ll add it to this list with credit.
P.P.S: This has started to become a lot longer than I had intended so I think it would be a good idea for simmers to choose any generation to start with & play! Feel like playing with Eco Lifestyle? Start with generation 12! You can do this in any order you want!

After starting & enjoying the Differences in the Family Tree challenge as posted by @samtastic-sims , I realized that the OP hasn’t updated the rules since late 2017. It therefore doesn’t include some gameplay elements I enjoy (namely, stuff from Jungle Adventure and StrangerVille). So I’ve reworked the challenge a bit to fit my own needs better. If you’re interested in trying these rules as well, you’re welcome to read on.
