chronic illness is a black hole. it consumes weeks. months. you skip forward. everyone else has moved on to the next thing. I am not in society I am in bed. my social ties are frayed with disuse. I only want to hold my life in my hands again.

Welcome to Tumblr, Twitter users!

Don’t worry, we don’t have Elon Musk here…

But hipsters beware, you’re in for a scare!

This isn’t Twitter. This isn’t your average every day site. This is Tumblr. We’re crazy. We’re weird. We don’t fit in. We’re the fangirls, the fujoshis, the Superwholockers, and the Steven Universe Critical bloggers. We forgot what “normal” was. So if you’re expecting a normal website…

More disabled people need to be using mobility aids fr. I hear so many ppl talk about chronic knee and back pain who don't use mobility aids because they're worried they aren't in enough pain, don't want to take up too much space, don't want to get looks, etc. Bitch you are worth it. You deserve it. You deserve to feel more comfortable in your day to day life. Besides, mobility aids kick ass and every time I see someone else my age with a cane I feel immeasurable joy.

"Autism wouldn't be a disability if society was different"

Full offense I didn't spend 18 years of life unable to take proper care of my hair because of society. People should've been more understanding, they shouldn't have stared and bullied me and treated me like the rest of me didn't matter, but they were right to be concerned. It was unhygienic.

There's never going to be a society with no difficult sensory input to tolerate, that's literally impossible. When I'm overloaded I can't function like usual. This could be improved with societal changes, but it'll always exist.

If everyone in society was accepting of my different social behaviour, I'd still miss cues and meanings that come naturally to most. That's disabling. Even if people are willing to explain, that's a disability accommodation. Accommodations don't make us not disabled.

We don't need a society where we're not disabled, we need a society where being disabled is accepted and accommodated as much as possible.

Disabled people are allowed to be pissed. Disabled people are allowed to be negative, angry, bitter. Abled people lament and complain about the hands they're dealt all the time. Disabled people have no more obligations than abled people to be always positive and looking for the bright sides.

TERFs on trans men having parties to celebrate getting top surgery:

Their entitlement to our bodies truly knows no bounds.

Weren’t people criticizing this exact sentiment with the “I <3 Boobies” bracelets for breast cancer? Where they care more about the boobs than the person they’re attached to?

Are TERFs actively admitting that they view our tits and our wombs as more deserving of respect and humanity than us? Our thoughts are irrelevant. Our feelings mean nothing. Our voices might as well be hot air flowing through the room. Only our tits and ability to function as baby factories. But now instead of misogyny, it’s transphobia! Or perhaps a mix of both, seeing as this obsession with our bodies is based on the false idea that these body parts make us women and that’s exactly where their entitlement comes in.

people who act like accessibility tools are an inconvenience to them and would rather they not exist are annoying little shits. no, the captions aren’t ruining the movie. no, that ramp isn’t making your life harder because you have to go to the side entrance. abled people are so entitled to think that other peoples accessibility is a nuisance, especially considering disabled people rarely get the same kind of access abled people get automatically. equity is not oppression of the privileged

If you meet someone with chronic pain and you think, "wow, they're so chill, I didn't even realize they were in pain"--please know that within me lives the rage of every war god.
